1992 Ford Mustang LX SWAP (#993) Calypso green 1992 Ford Mustang LX
Notchback Restored This car started life as a clean untouched 4
cylinder car. The previous owner purchased the car and began an
extensive drivetrain swap and exterior restoration. He purchased a
non wrecked 2000 mustang cobra and spent 8 months literally
swapping every single drivetrain related component over. As the
Cobra was torn down all components were replaced or rebuilt. The
engine had all seals, head gaskets, timing chains, new king cobra
clutch, spark plugs, pilot bearing, etc all done. Including air
conditioning The Inpendent rear suspension (IRS) received all new
bushings and the diff got Motorsport 4:10 gears. He swapped and
customized everything to fit as close to factory as possible. Front
sway bar, hydro boost, E brake cables, gauge cluster, gas tank,
fuel lines, are all from the Cobra. The brakes were upgraded to
drilled and slotted rotors and all hardware was replaced (even
found anti rattle clip bushings) wheels are 10th anniversary Cobra
wheels with brand new tires. (17x9) the exhaust was built from the
manifolds back and I used Borla S type mufflers (sounds incredible)
The exterior of the car was stripped down to nothing and
beautifully re sprayed. Yes it's a factory Calypso car. The doors
and body were all re seamed sealed prior to paint. All trim was
sanded and re sprayed trim black. All weather stripping was
replaced, headlights are new, taillights, both window motors, and
door lock actuators. incredible amount of money invested into this
car and whoever gets it will absolutely love it! That being said
Car was built to drive, not sit in a garage. It's not a concourse
restoration, but I'd rate it a beautiful driver resto. I've owned
16 notchbacks and this one is by far my favorite! We have clear
Washington title, Clean carfax report shows no accidents and only 4
