Vehicle Description
1968 Mercedes 280S California Car This car is my baby and my dad
and I worked on it and paid thousands to have everything redone.
Everything that we could keep original is still original. We put in
countless hours and had the car overhauled by multiple vintage
Mercedes specialists for over a year. The car's from CA, so no
corrosion and after moving to UT and trailering the car here, I've
driven it here for almost a year now. Sadly, it's time to sell
because I'm getting married and buying a hybrid. But, this car
needs to go to someone who will love it as much as I have.
Technically, she's a 280S, W108.016, 2.8L M130 inline 6. The
engine, carbs, drivetrain, break system, steering system, cooling
system, everything has been overhauled. Way too much to list. Of
particular note, we had the original, dual zenith carbs rebuilt for
approximately $800 and after we put them on, we decided to just go
with the new dual Weber replacements ($900 - $1,200). They are way
more reliable and provide 20%-30% increase in performance,
response, and torque. I did not sell the rebuilt Zenith's (on ebay
for approx. $1,000 - $1,300), so we could possibly strike a deal to
throw them in with the sale. The odometer is one of the only
non-working parts, but the mileage isn't very relevant because of
the amount of work done to the engine and virtually all other
systems recently and extremely low mileage after all the work. The
interior is in amazing condition for it being original upholstery.
I put seat covers on the driver and passenger seats as to not cause
damage to the seats while I have owned it. I also installed a
hidden bluetooth controller and amps powering a Kenwood speaker
system. I had to have music and bluetooth, but didn't want to
change the original look of the dash, so the original radio is
still there. Original manual and new repair manual included. 3
point seatbelts in the front. Brand new upgraded battery. Looking
for 18k, which would mean I would just about break even fB
