The 1957 Fords were an exceptionally distinctive year with
exclusive styling touches. So when you can find a Fairlane 500
hardtop that has the correct style and cruiser-ready upgrades, it
makes for quite an attractive classic, especially for this
price.
This is arguably one of the sleekest designs of its era. You had
one the boldest versions of the single headlight designs and
well-defined tailfins all at the same time. In fact, the headlights
almost look frenched from the factory, and this has been given
blue-dot taillights for a terrific custom level of style. And the
middle of the car looks impressive, too. The two-tone red and white
is a year-correct color combo that has a nice gloss from a later
upgrade. The full-length trim provides a proper dividing line for
the colors, and they also steal all your attention with a beautiful
silver and gold glow. This artful streak needs truly straight sheet
metal for it to make this kind of stellar impression over the whole
body. Plus, radiant chrome bumpers, good weather-stripping, and
wide whitewalls make for the kind of classic cruising package
you'll love showing off.
You'll love leaving all the windows down on this pillarless hardtop
just so others can get a full look inside. That's because the red
and white continue on the inside. It's a beautifully intertwined
two-tone with details like the taut white headliner, plush red
carpeting, and textured red seat inserts. The view from behind the
wheel is pure 1950s cool. Ford's arching instrument panel is a
great-looking piece of industrial design, complete with plenty of
bright trim to accentuate the dash. But this one wants to be a true
cruiser you can enjoy in modern times, and so you'll also spot some
nice upgrades under the dash. There's an air conditioning system
installed (the blower will need servicing) and the AM/FM/CD stereo
with aux input lets you pick the ideal driving music.
Under the hood is a nice V8 upgrade. The 351 cubic-inch V8 is
larger than anything the Fairlane had for '57, but they give it a
clean classic look to make sure the upgrade doesn't look out of
place. And there have been solid investments in the right pieces
everywhere from the aluminum radiator to the dual exhaust. So it
makes for an easy driver with a sweet V8 purr. Add in the automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes, and supple suspension,
and this is a great cruising classic.
This is one of the most desirable years to own a Fairlane, and this
hardtop was given the right investments to be an even better
cruiser. So when you feel like driving distinction, call today!
