Melanson Motors is proud to offer this gorgeous 1965 Chevrolet El Camino. This nicely restored example is an ultra clean, ultra straight truck. It started life in Fremont California, the 2nd week of December 1964 as a ‘deluxe 8-Cylinder El Camino’. The paint and chrome are show quality and the frame and floors are excellent. This El Camino is powered by a strong running Big Block Chevrolet 396 engine which was professionally built at a cost of over $5000 (with receipts). The dyno results show peak horsepower of 535hp, and peak torque of 498ft-lbs. The truck drives excellent, does not get hot, and is very comfortable on the street. Power is sent through a smooth shifting TH400 3 Speed Automatic into a 12 bolt Positraction rear end. There is a coilover conversion kit on the rear end.
The interior features a new carpet, new door panels, new headliner, new sun visors, and a very comfortable reupholstered bench seat. The dash has an aftermarket Sun Gauges tachometer installed. This Chevy has power steering and power brakes. It rides on 18 inch Coys Torque Thrust style wheels wrapped in Z rated performance tires. The exhaust is stainless front to back and sounds great!
An excellent example of a great driving, super cool Chevrolet El Camino!
