to present this 1959 Porsche 356 A Convertible D finished in Ruby
Red on Beige. A delightful driving example, it is an older
restoration with some patina and would be an excellent touring car.
The Convertible D is an extremely significant variant of the 356
model line and happens to be the rarest 356 model ever manufactured
for a full year. This is the model that Porsche designed to improve
upon the iconic Speedster and offered it as a superior replacement.
All Convertible D's were produced by Drauz Karosseriewerke instead
of Karmann. The following quote illustrates it's appeal in a few
words "All in all, the Convertible D was a more practical car than
the Speedster: with a larger windshield, real side windows, and
more comfortable seats, while retaining the beautiful body lines
and downward sloping beltline that now attracts so many 356
