Vehicle Description
This 1937 Chevrolet 5-Window Coupe has the right mix of street
machine style and true classic cruiser. It's a package with
enhanced V8 power, an upgraded front suspension, overdrive
transmission, and quite a comfy/custom interior. So you just know
it's the restored coupe that was made to be driven.
A Business Coupe always has desirable proportions when you're
looking for a cool street machine classic. The long hood looks
right against the flowing fenders, and the big trunk has the time
for a smooth curve down the profile. It's showcased by a nice gloss
from the blue paint. This updated color even includes red and white
pinstripes for a full patriotic appearance. And we like that it
looks clean and complete but with an overall appearance that lets
you know this was made to drive the American highway. The right
classic brightwork pieces are in place, like the bumpers, hood
ornament, and tall grille. So it makes for more of a stock look
with mostly subtle upgrades like clear headlights, deleted trim,
and a more modern fit to the two-piece windshield. It makes for a
truer vintage style that seems right for a car that appears to be a
full vintage steel body. But it also can't resist showing off a bit
more street machine attitude with the wide side exhaust tips and a
set of Rocket Racing wheels that give you the classic skinny tire
front and a meatier rear on a set of slotted mags.
The gray interior looks good against the dark blue exterior, and
there are even blue accents on the dash, doors, and side panels to
prove it. There is a thoughtful level of detail in this Chevy with
the upgraded bucket seats that have wide headrests and enough
modern bolstering to be all-day comfortable. They are even done in
supple leather. This remains a true business coupe, and you'll tell
people all about it by showing off the detailed rear parcel shelf.
And since there's no seat back there, you and your passenger get to
recline in added comfort. There are also the right easy cruiser
features like cruise control, provisions for air conditioning (it
will need servicing to blow cold again,) a tilt steering column, a
leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a crisp set of Omega Kustom
instrument gauges.
Under the hood is quite a tidy small block upgrade. This is a 350
cubic-inch V8 that inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel
carburetor and an Edelbrock aluminum intake. It's also supported by
the right pieces, like HEI electronic ignition and a large electric
fan. It's the kind of powerhouse that will get you thinking about
cruising all weekend. That's why it also comes with great driving
features, like the power brakes, front discs, and an upgraded
tubular A-arm independent front suspension. Plus, the transmission
is a 700R4 four-speed automatic with highway-friendly
overdrive.
This is the business coupe that has the style and features to be
the cool custom cruiser you've always wanted. So don't let this one
