This beautiful 1968 Mustang Convertible is one you do not want to miss out on!!! Owned by a family since 2001 and fully restored between 2003-2004 with just 3,000 miles put on it since the restoraiton. MARTI report shows it was originally delivered to Charlotte , NC district and I was told it spent most of its life in Georgia. Folks I bought it from lived in Ga until 2018 and moved to SC. This is an extremely nice classic Pony Convertible, nicely equipped that you can dirve and enjoy and will get plenty of trophies at the local shows if that is what you enjoy. I will do my best to provide enough images, a video of it running and an honest description to help you decide if this sweet Pony should be in your garage. Restored in 2003, the paint and body look like they could have been done a few months ago. Absoulutely gorgeous Presidential Blue metallic color that was an original color in 1968 but not original to this car. It was originally Diamond Blue whihc was like a baby blue. Personally I think the Presidential Blue color is much more appealing. Body panels are extremely straight and we believe it has all its original panels. Fit is excellent and doors open and close nicely. All of the chrome and stainless trim looks excellent. We added the white C-stripe decal whihc I think really adds to the look and compliments the white convertible top. This Mustang also came with the louvered hood with turn signals integrated that still work. Rear taillights were upgraded to LED sequential style.Although not flawless, it is very hard to pick the paint and body. I noticed a few very small indentations on the trunk probably from people in a parade sitting on top of the back seat area and placing there hands back but you really have to look hard to see them. Maybe a tiny scratch or nick but otherwise the paint and body truly stand above most! This Blue beauty looks sweet from every angle!!
Hopefully the next lucky owner enjoys this Pony with the top down as much as possible but it is nice to know that the white Power convertible top is also in excellent condiition and functions beautifully. We also have the matching blue boot cover for when the top is down and a car cover will also be included.
Complimenting the glistening Presidential Blue exterior is an equally nice 2 tone Blue interior. Seats, dash, door panels, carpeting etc all in fantastic condition. Options galore including the Visibility group with drivers side remote mirror , courtesy lights, etc. Rare Tilt-a-away steering column still functions correctly so the steering wheel swings away when you get in and out. Center console looks great. This was an original Factory A/C car and all of the equipment appears to be in place but currently not blowing cold. It should be relatively easy to upgrade to new refirgerant and get it functioning but we think top down is the way to go and no a/c really needed. All of the glass looks excellent and windows all work well. Weatherstripping all looks to have been replaced at the time of restoration. Very small crack in the original steering wheel and I would recommend adding one of those padded steering wheel covers that laces on. You will be proud to show off the interior of this classic!
Of course this Mustang runs and drives as good as she looks with a very strong, smooth shifting 289 V8 mated to the automatic C-4 select shfit transmission. Origiinal mileage is just 94,320 and is listed as Actual mileage on the title. Previous owners had the original motor rebuilt and upgraded to a 4bbl for a little added power. They also had the tranmission rebuilt at the same time. They estimated they put about 3,000 miles on it sinc ethe rebuild and restoration. This Mustang pulls nice and strong with excellent compression at all 8 Cylinders. Compression was 130-135 lbs on all cylinders as you can see in the pics. Handling and stopping is a breeze thanks to the Power steering and Power front disc brakes. We added a brand new set of Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in brand new BFg Radial TA tires. The engine bay has been nicely detailed and still retains the original trim tag attached to passenger side inner fender. Also original door trim tag is there and original Vin tag on dash. Undrcarriage also looks great with rock solid original floorpans and torque boxes and frame rails. Inside of trunk was also nicely done.
