This rare and beautiful 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass W31 is now
available from MaxMotive. The highlight, of course, is the numbers
matching, factory blueprinted W31 350ci V8 engine. One of just 1029
built, this example is a 2021 Grand National Winner, and the
Antique Automobile Club of America has bestowed upon it National
and Regional 1st Junior and Senior awards. The original drivetrain
includes a 4-speed manual transmission and an anti-spin rear axle
with the very desirable and unique W27 aluminum carrier and rear
end cover. A low restriction air cleaner works with the ram-air
hood to help the big 750cfm 4-barrel carb ingest massive volumes of
cool air. Dual exhaust was standard equipment. The car has a
sophisticated presence with its original color Twilight Blue
Metallic exterior paint and white striping, while chrome rallye
wheels mount white letter Goodrich radials. A matching blue
interior features bucket seats, a center console, and the optional
sport steering wheel. In true Oldsmobile tradition, there's plenty
of luxury with power steering with a tilt column, power front disc
brakes, an AM/FM radio and, best of all, factory air conditioning.
In clear view of the driver is the Rocket Rallye gauge package
including a fully functioning Tick Tock Tach. This very special
automobile comes with the complete original owner's package
including the Protect-O-Plate and original Owners Manual, plus a
package with the AACA information and score sheets, and vintage
Oldsmobile literature. The small block engine along with the
lightweight fiberglass hood provided a favorable balance that
enhanced the handling of the W31, which earned the car many loyal
