The truck was taken down to the frame, and the frame was painted and the body was painted 1991 Ford Vermillion, a nice shade of red with a deep character. It has the original cab, hood, front fenders, bumpers and bed with fiberglass rear fenders and steps. Handsome cherry hardwood was used for the bed floor. For driveability a 1979 Chevrolet 305 V8 was installed along with the corresponding 3-speed metric automatic transmission (also owned by the same family). The 12-bolt positraction rear end now contains 3.14 gears, which provide plenty of acceleration, but allow better highway performance and economy. The grille, door handles, and emblems were all replaced in keeping with the fresh look of the truck. It also has an aluminum radiator, fresh exhaust, steel spoke wheels, and white letter SUV radials for driveability and dependability. Owner-added extras include a nice wooden storage bin with cupholders and a Pioneer stereo with cassette. The truck and the stereo come with their original owners manuals too.
