Vehicle Description
This Willys coupe street rod was built by Fulk's Rod Shop of
Sandyville, West Virginia, utilizing a boxed tube frame and a 1940
Willys Americar-style steel-reinforced fiberglass body. The car is
finished in orange over tan leather upholstery and is powered by a
502ci GM V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
Equipment includes Vintage Air air conditioning, VDO
instrumentation, a tilting Ididit steering column, a Sony CD
stereo, Billet Specialties wheels, and disc brakes. This Willys
coupe was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021 and is now offered
in New Jersey with refurbishment photos, records, and a clean NJ
title listing the car as a 1941 Willys.
The steel-reinforced fiberglass body said to have been sourced from
Antique & Collectible Autos is mounted to a boxed tube frame and
has been mini-tubbed at the rear. House of Kolor Tangerine Pearl
paint is accented by polished door handles, lighting surrounds, and
1940 Willys-style front grilles. Additional exterior details
include a split-rear window, a retractable antenna, and a single
roof-mounted windshield wiper.
Split-spoke Billet Specialties wheels wear staggered Kumho Ecsta
ASX tires. Adjustable coilovers are fitted at all four corners, and
stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The interior features seats upholstered in tan leather with
matching door panels and brown carpets. Amenities include Vintage
Air climate control, a Sony CD stereo, a Lokar shifter, and an
Ididit tilting steering column.
The polished steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting
of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for oil pressure, water
temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The odometer shows 3k miles,
which is said to represent the distance covered since the
completion of the build.
The 502ci GM Performance V8 crate engine is equipped with a Holly
carburetor, Sanderson headers, and an aluminum radiator. A battery
kill switch and a battery tender hook-up have also been
installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH350
automatic transmission and a 9? Ford rear end.
Build photos are presented in the gallery and are joined by a
binder of documentation on the build.
