One-of-a-Kind Caprice Station Wagon – You Won’t Believe It Until You See It!
And Who Thought Wagons Aren’t Cool?
That's a tenet virtually every car enthusiast believes in. But, as we all know, there's always room for improvement. That's where cars like this superb Caprice resto-mod come into the picture. In fact, that's pretty much the definition of the phrase 'pro-touring resto-mod' -- taking a lit classic and dousing it in updated technology to create an unmatched driving experience with few compromises. Combining the LT1 Chevrolet power with a stout drivetrain and striking Ford Kodiak Brown Metallic aesthetics, this wagon draws big crowds and big compliments. And if you're one of the many enthusiasts looking for a fun classic that's unrelentingly cool, it's your ticket to car guy nirvana!
Long, large and definitely in charge, this hot rod wagon is the stuff of a muscle car nerd's dreams! You know, there's a running joke in the automotive enthusiast community that wagons are, hands down, the coolest form of transportation. And, well, after seeing this beautiful creation, we don't think that's such a bad premise. This Chevy's extensive rebuild began with a quality body-on restoration that included virtually miles of Ford Kodiak Brown 2-stage paint.
Hoist that custom bonnet and you'll find an almost new LT1 with all the glamor that the Cerakote custom coating brings, not to mention the added Trickflow 36 pound injectors and custom tuning by PCM4LESS and now your talking. That potent engine spins a smooth Stage 2 transmission twisting power to a tough Clearimage Automotive posi-traction rear end equipped with 3.73 gears. That drivetrain rolls in a heavily upgraded suspension which, in addition to a duo of thick sway bars, features self-leveling RideTech air ride that's complete with preset heights. As expected, all turns are power-assisted by an upgraded AGR steering box and Spohn lower rear control arms and end links. Stops are provided by a Movitt Disc Brake setup up front and a fully rebuilt rear drum setup. All spent gases are sent through new high-flow catalytic converters into dual Dynomax mufflers.
Decked in an astonishing combination of vinyl, leather and suede, this Chevy's tastefully customized interior is tailored and taut. The 12-way adjustable Bonneville front seats and the Impala custom console really set the tone for the modernized interior. Opposite those thrones, a custom ETCHUS dash holds the Speedhut gauges. The driver spins an Impala steering wheel with the volume and other functions integrated into it for added convenience. Rich AutoCarpetDirect 1600 Series carpet provides a nice balance to the car's King Ranch seat flavoring. An ETCHUS double din conversion houses the Pioneer audio head with the best Memphis speakers, five-channel amp, and a Memphis Subwoofer that is neatly recessed into the spare tire cargo hold.
It doesn't take Oxford's Guide to Gearheads to understand the appeal of this incredible Caprice wagon. In fact, we can sum it up in one sentence: An attractive, resto-mod Station Wagon that's unique in all the right ways!
