This 1968 Chevrolet C20 Suburban is both practical and attractive
with its classic two-tone, cavernous three-row A/C interior, and a
powertrain with a fuel-injected LS1 V8 and overdrive
transmission.
The well-developed line of Chevrolet's C/K trucks is truly iconic
today, and so it only gets better on a less frequently seen
Suburban. And we like the premium details, like the bright chrome
bumpers, surf-style white roof, and the full-length trim that
cleanly separates the yellow and lower white of this two-tone
presentation. There are even nice upgrades for a better cruiser,
like the fog light bumper and clear tri-bar headlights. It's quite
an attractive package, but there are still the right signs of use
to make sure no one sees this as just a glamor machine. You see
this spirit in features everywhere from the surfboards on the roof
rack to the upgraded HD-style 8-lug wheels.
The interior has a clean look on the carpeting, door panels, and
nicely textured upholstery. It's made to be a better driver with a
sports steering wheel, tilt column, billet gear selector, and a
backup camera mounted between the sun visors. There are also nice
features for everyone, like air conditioning (it may need a
recharge) and tinted windows. The classic Suburban setup does not
have a rear door on the "traffic side" for safety sake, but it also
serves a nice purpose for practicality. When you have a three-row
setup like this, one door allows for an entry space on the offset
middle row. So it's easy for adults to get in and out of all rows
of seating. And not only can you carry plenty of family and
friends, but there's still room in here for plenty of cargo. It
makes for one of the most practical and useful classics around.
When you lift the hood, this one has the unmistakable look of
upgraded power. It's a 5.7-liter LS1 V8. That means a healthy
upgrade in horsepower and the reliability of fuel injection. And
the V8 makes a dignified tune out of the dual exhaust and Magnaflow
mufflers. It's a true cruiser with the 700R4 four-speed automatic
transmission offering highway-friendly overdrive. You'll love the
suspension going down the road because it's the comfortable
trailing arm rear borrowed from the C10. Plus, you have power
steering, front disc brakes, and good modern touring tires.
When something is both vintage and versatile it's the kind of
vehicle that lets you dream about going places you never even
thought you could take a classic before. So if you're looking for
vintage SUV adventures, you know you need to call today!
