Vehicle Description
1934 Chrysler Coupe
In 1934 Chrysler introduced the Series CA and the longer wheelbase
Series CB. These were intended to be the last year for the platform
with Chrysler introducing the very unique and futuristic looking
Airflow model the same year. Due to its unusual appearance the
Airflow was not well received so they brought back the Airstream
series in later years revising the CA/CB platform further. The '34
incorporated some unique components like the swooping valanced
front/rear fenders, horizontal side louvers and the opting for
steel wheels over wood. You don't see a lot of these cars around
nowadays and a lot of those that are around are likely rotting a
way somewhere. That makes ones like this cool Chrysler street rod
really stand out. Odds are you won't be parking next to another
like it any time soon. The Steel body with suicide doors is in
great condition throughout and just received a fresh coat of Soul
Crystal Red paint which is a Mazda color. The headlights,
taillights, and bumpers on the car have been Blacked out which give
it a very unique and tough look. The bumpers are a hot rod Black
and lights powder coated. The vinyl top has been replaced and is in
good condition. The running boards on it have a Black bedliner
which is a clever way to keep them in excellent condition. The rear
glass is new and it still has its original style tilt front
windshield. Custom chrome swan neck mirrors have been added on both
doors for improved visibility. It has a steel 4 piece hood that
opens from either side and the side louvers have very nicely
polished trim. The custom Black wheels look great on the car and
are wrapped with new BF Goodrich Radial tires (rear-P275/60R15,
front-P235/70R15.)
Open up the hood and you might be surprised to see this hot rod is
now powered by a 2005 Dodge 5.7L Hemi motor. You see so many
restomods going the Chevy 350 route so this one still being all
Mopar is a great touch. The motor runs very well and features a
modern electronic fuel injection system. When the drivetrain was
redone it was installed along with a Hemi stand alone electronic
wiring harness. Cooling is no issue thanks to the custom aluminum
radiator and Spal electronic cooling fan with custom shroud. The
transmission shifts smoothly and is a 545 RFE automatic. The car
also has all new king pins, power steering and a steer clear system
which is a very good way to clean up the firewall while maintained
clearance for all the components. A new power booster master
cylinder with proportioning valve were all just replaced as well as
all new brake shoes and lines. The AC compressor works and is on
the motor but the AC system is not fully completed. The car just
had a tune up with all new fluids, new transmission filter, etc.
Other nice upgrades include the the upgraded independent front
suspension and custom dual exhaust that is routed out of the side
through chrome oval tips.
**NOTE: ENGINE PICTURES WERE TAKING PRIOR TO THE CAR BEING
PAINTED
The interior is all fresh and done in Black. It has a nice sliding
bench seat with a pleated center insert. The dash features
aftermarket gauges which are all working. In front of the driver
sits a Flaming River tilt steering column topped off with a Lecarra
steering wheel. The Lokar shifter is routed through the floor as
well as the emergency brake. The trunk is nicely carpeted and
houses the 12 volt battery in a battery box. It also has a master
battery cut off switch.
This is a very cool restomod that has a lot of very unique
features. It is set up to be a smooth driver and being a Chrysler
with a Hemi motor is sure to stand out from other Street Rods.
