This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Tribute really covers your
muscle car checklist with enhanced big block power, bucket seat
interior, a cool/correct color, and the upgrade to an overdrive
transmission. So dig into the details on a hardtop that wants to be
your everything.
Code 78 Black Cherry is a terrific factory-correct color to have on
a Chevelle SS. After all, it looks like someone combined the
boldness of red and the intimidation of black. There's even more
distinction thanks to the silver SS stripes that were painted on
before the whole presentation was cleared over. Wide quad
headlights up front, bright chrome bumpers that hug the body, and a
fastback-style profile are what make the 1970 Chevelle a legend.
Plus, the dark SS grille, cowl induction hood, blackout rear panel,
and Rally wheels are all part of that classic performance Chevy
package that is instantly appealing.
The interior was given a refresh later in life, but it made sure to
retain a classic look and the factory-correct black. The door
panels, dash, and carpeting all have a quality look. And It feels
good to slip into the high-back driver's bucket seat. You have all
the right features, like a horseshoe shifter in the center console,
and the dual-spoke SS steering wheel gives you a clear view to the
gauges. This is even a factory air conditioning car (it will need
servicing to blow cold again.) It's a coupe that likes to retain
its vintage style, right down to the Delco AM/FM radio in the dash.
But hidden away in the glovebox is an AM/FM/CD stereo with aux
input for your iPod. So you get to have modern driving music
without jeopardizing the vintage atmosphere.
It's always great to see a Chevelle engine bay with proper big
block power. And this one really likes to show it means business
with ribbed valve covers, steel braided lines, bold Mallory plug
wires, and a bright air topper with 396ci callout. And more than
just look mean, this big block is built for added power with a
Holley double-pumper four-barrel carburetor, one-inch spacer,
Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake, Mallory ignition, and headers
feeding a stainless dual exhaust. The transmission has been
upgraded to a 700R4 four-speed automatic. This is a stout unit that
gives you more gears for a better powerband spread, and it also
means you get overdrive comfort for those nights you just want to
be in the boulevard. This feeds a 12-bolt rear end, and the
SS-style suspension with boxed arms and sway bar give this stout
style added confidence. Plus, you have power steering, power brakes
w/discs up front, and new 20" torq thrust wheels and tires.
This Chevelle SS tribute has the look and power you've been after
for so long. That's why you know you can't let this hardtop slip
away. Call today!!!
