Built from 1927 to 1931, the Model A was Ford’s first production car with conventional controls, allowing it to compete with the likes of Chevrolet who had overtaken Ford’s top spot in sales in 1927. The Model A was robust, simple, and easy to drive with good performance from the flathead four-cylinder engine. The Model A has gone on to become a cornerstone of the collector car hobby and with nearly 5 million built, they remain plentiful, affordable and a fabulous choice for a wide range of enthusiasts.
Ford replaced the venerable Model T in 1928 with the completely new Model A. The company’s first panel-truck bodies also arrived that year and could be fitted to either the A or AA chassis. Nowadays, the Pickup truck Model A is the most desirable pick up from the first-time classic car buyer to the dedicated collector and still has near universal appeal.
RB Collection is pleased to offer this delightful and exquisite 1929 FORD Model A open-cab pickup, one of the finest examples of Model A’s vehicles that we have the privilege of selling. This pickup presents in superb condition and was subjected to a high quality concours restoration. The level of the restoration is easily noticeable considering the body panels, gaps, high quality paintwork in Green and Black fenders, correct black bed, and wheels, in addition to the attention to detail, including the preservation of all original features.
Inside, the upholstery is in outstanding condition with the seats showing no signs of wear or any damage, appearing fresh and unworn since the restoration. Door panels and carpeting are likewise in excellent condition. The dash’s stunning appearance complements the vehicles other unique features.
The Model A’s dazzling looks are matched by a superb driving experience. The car underwent an extensive mechanical restoration that includes a Schwalm’s (Strasburg/PA) engine and a Zenith carburetor both periods correct. It runs as a time capsule, smoothly with excellent road manners and no issues to speak of. The engine, drivetrain and undercarriage are all in concours condition.
