Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 23rd year in the
classic and muscle car business. The Porsche 914 was developed in
the late 1960's from a joint venture between Volkswagen and Porsche
as a replacement for their aging Karmann Ghia and 912 models,
respectively. Long overlooked by collectors and Porschephiles
alike, these well-balanced, lightweight Targas are finally
receiving the recognition that they've long deserved. With a curb
weight of just over 2000 lbs., distributed perfectly 50/50 front to
rear with a full tank of fuel, these elemental sports cars hold
great appeal with experienced drivers. Our Light Ivory (L80E) 1974
Porsche 914 2.0 is a delightful example of what is effectively a
street legal go-cart for adults. Nestled in the engine bay is the
more desirable 2.0L engine (EN GA011524) that, according to our
research, is original to the car. Additional features include a
fully independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, a 5-speed manual
transmission (HA27093), front and rear spoilers, orange houndstooth
upholstery, and 205/60R15 tires wrapped around alloy wheels. In
addition to the previously mentioned attributes, a low center of
gravity and short front and rear overhangs further contribute to
the slot car handling. Proof? Our local Dead Man's Curve became
Happy Joy Curve that can be taken at 70 mph without squealing a
tire! If this German road scalpel appeals to you, now's the time;
the 914/6's are already out of reach for most of us and the 2.0L
cars are sure to follow. Another gem from the team that can make
your dream a reality. Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full
service dealership that can assist with worldwide delivery,
insurance, and financing options.
