Vehicle Description
1973 Ford Mustang 2-Door SportsRoof - California Fastback - 302 V8
with Automatic - Light Blue over Blue Interior - Power Steering,
Power Brakes - All Stock Marking the end of the First Generation of
Ford Mustangs, the 1973 model year is often overlooked by
collectors and Mustang enthusiasts alike. Though this year of
Mustang was vastly changed since the marque launch in mid-1964 and
early 1965 model years, the 1973 model has been designated as the
last year of the big Mustang. It was going to be replaced by a
smaller, lighter Mustang and Ford was focused on getting that
ready, therefore, most changes for the 1973 model year were purely
cosmetic. For example, the 1973 Mustang convertible was to become
that last Mustang convertible until it was brought back in 1983.
New to the 1973 model were large, square, chrome headlamp bezels as
well as chrome trim around the tail lights. These Mustangs were
outfitted with 5 mph front bumpers and 2.5 mph rear bumpers that
added four inches to the length of the vehicle as well as 50
additional pounds of weight. Engine availability was largely
unchanged from the 1972 model year. The main change was that Ford
was no longer offering the 351 HO engine but offered the 351ci 4
barrel or 351ci 2 barrel as an upgrade to the 302ci V8. A total of
134,867 Mustangs were sold during the 1973 model year; up a modest
7% for the final year of the first generation. Presented here is a
light blue over blue California fastback that is noted as being
strictly all stock. A quick glance around the exterior show what
appears to be all original paint with little to minimal visual
imperfections. Exterior chrome is slight and tastefully
incorporated into the overall aesthetic. The blue vinyl interior is
complete with front buckets that have no cracks or signs of stress.
The engine bay and chassis confirm this Mustang's stock designation
and appear to be completely untouched. The included power steering
and power brakes allow this Mustang to be what many would call a
cruiser and road king. Although this Mustang may not be the exact
one on many collectors wish lists, do not discount this model from
the collector car scene. Noted with the sportsroof configuration,
this Mustang is sure to turn heads and present well at any local
car show. You would not be disappointed adding this American muscle
car to your corral or garage alike. Please call if interested or
