Vehicle Description
Full-size loaded luxury is a rarity these days, and so this
affordable 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham has a very
alluring style. V8 power, a loaded A/C interior, and the space to
carry everyone and their luggage is all part of this well-presented
sedan's total package.
The classic shade of white looks good on a true classic like this,
and that's why it should be no surprise that it's the
factory-correct color. But this also shows all the right signs of
being the factory-original application. It retains a well-respected
finish, and in fact, the odometer is believed to reflect the full
actual mileage (averaging under 750 miles annually.) In fact, most
of the defects you'll find just come more from age than mileage -
like the usual areas with the trim around the bumpers and roof. And
what you'll really appreciate is the premium style. The upper-level
Brougham model means plenty of bright details like chrome bumpers,
bright rockers, and wire wheel covers. Plus, the full-length
pinstripe does a great job of showcasing the straightness of the
sheet metal while also offering a preview of the interior
color.
The upper-class Brougham makes for a desirably luxurious interior.
It has pillow-top seating, and low mileage means little seat time.
So it's both attractive and comfy. There's plenty of legroom to sit
six people comfortably across two wide benches. But a premium car
also coddles the drive with exclusivity. So you can fold down the
front for the ideal individual comfort. The tilt steering column
gives you a good view of the full gauge package. And it's an easy
reach to all the best features, like power windows, power locks,
cruise control, the AM/FM/cassette stereo, and cold-blowing air
conditioning. It's exceptionally preserved right down to the
working dome lights and key buzzer. And the huge trunk is ready for
all the clubs for a foursome's golf trip.
Under the hood is a quite tidy 307 cubic inch V8. Topped with a
four-barrel carburetor, this is a true classic Olds Rocket motor.
The V8 motor was a valuable piece to give this the right kind of
torque to move it around with authority. That makes it a terrific
cruiser... especially when paired with easy driving features like
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed
automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive.
This is quite an attractive and loaded survivor. So if you want
well-preserved old-school luxury for a terrific price, call
