Vehicle Description
This is one of the most unique and affordable ways to have a true
classic muscle car. After all, Mopars are often the rarest numbers
around, and this 1977 Dodge Aspen R/T is truly unique. Not only is
it one of the rare few that came with a larger 360ci V8 from the
factory, but the numbers-matching unit is still under the hood
today! And this restored coupe has the right style and pedigree to
even be a magazine feature car.
The Aspen was the right car for R/T treatment. It was the
small/liter kind of coupe in the tradition of the Challenger.
Still, not many people think of a genuine factory R/T package when
it comes to the 1977 Dodge Aspen. That's because they represent
less than 2 percent of the production. And with that kind of
rarity, we can see why there was a solid restoration investment in
this one. The upgraded Silver Frost paint has a deep shine. And it
works with the distinct orange and red sports stripe package to
show off the straightness of the sheet metal. Although we doubt
they had to do too much work to the body considering this is an
actual mileage odometer car that has averaged a little over 1,700
miles annually. The R/T treatment also includes the blacked-out
grille, full chin spoiler, Rallye wheels, quarter window louvers,
and an end-to-end rear spoiler. It all makes for a shining example
worthy of the R/T name.
Inside is a factory-correct black interior that has all the right
elements you'd expect from a classic performance machine. Bucket
seats and a center console make it instantly inviting. And when you
grab the correct Tuff three-spoke sports steering wheel, you get a
commanding view of the full gauge pack and the road ahead. And this
one was loaded for its time, including air conditioning (it has
been converted to R134a but it will need servicing to blow cold
again.) Even the AM/FM radio still plays the 8-track
cartridges.
This Aspen knows how to live up to its R/T pedigree. It was
optioned with the larger 360 cubic-inch V8. It's an important
feature for collectability, and so it's great to have the
numbers-matching unit still under the hood today. It has been given
the right care and investments along the way. That means it inhales
deeper with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock
intake. That means more performance on the streets and an extra
hint of growl from the dual exhaust. And a larger aluminum radiator
helps keep it all running cool. Add in the three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs, and
you'll love cruising this Aspen everywhere.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos and a magazine
article about this unique coupe. This Aspen R/T has the right
investments and preservation to be the kind of awesome classic that
will be unforgettable. And we bet you never thought joining the
rare R/T club could be so affordable. Call today!!!
