1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Car History
This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Sportsroof we have here at Adventure
Classics is one of the more desirable optioned cars of 1971
variants and is super clean. The Mach 1 is a well-optioned example
with factory air conditioning, power steering, and power disc
brakes.
It also has a "M" code with the 351 cubic inch Cleveland engine,
4-speed transmission, factory Magnum 500 wheels and great Light
Pewter Metallic paint and black Mach 1 iconic Ram Air Scoop hood,
as well as a Marti Report.
Engine & Drivetrain
The 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 also has one of the more desirable
options, the M-code engine that consisted of a 351 cubic inch
Cleveland V8 engine packing a 4-barrel carb. From the factory, the
5.8-liter Cleveland V8 was rated for 285 horsepower and 370
pound-feet of torque.
Ours has the original blue factory Ram Air cleaner system, with the
351-Ram Air decal attached, that includes a vacuum controlled door
and a fiberglass plenum under the hood to direct cold air to the
air filter and into the carb via the top of the cleaner,
performance 4-barrel carb, distributor, power steering and power
front disc brakes, and an 4-speed manual transmission.
Ours has all the factory looking components on it like the blue
painted valve covers, intake, engine, heads, and intake, factory
cast iron exhaust headers, air conditioning, and a 3.25 rear
axle.
Interior
Our Mach 1 has the Mach 1 Sports Interior option with twin bucket
seats with matching headliner, rear seats and door panels, black
factory dash with all the factory gauges and controls, black carpet
and floor mats, center console housing the chrome 4-speed shifter,
wood steering wheel, pushbutton radio, and all in great shape.
Exterior
Our Mustang has Light Pewter Metallic paint and is accented by the
black Mach 1 iconic Ram Air Scoop hood. Side stripes, great body
panels and body fitment, chrome rear bumper, rear spoiler, rear
window slats, and riding on factory Magnum 500 wheels with BF
Goodrich raised white letter TA Radial performance tires.
Even the trunk is nicely appointed with the spare tire, jack, and
Ford trunk mat that really looks good.
Conclusion
It is not often that you will find a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 "M"
code with the 351 cubic inch engine, Light Pewter Metallic paint,
and optioned and verified like ours by The Marti Report.
These Mach 1 Mustangs are really climbing in price in the collector
market so get this real-deal one today.
