For Sale: 1967 Ford Mustang in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

This 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible has a great story where it has spent almost its whole life thus far with one family. It's a father/daughter story where she even purchased it from her dad in 2005 and restored it so they could go for a ride together. So this V8-powered drop-top has the ideal mix of a fun story, the right investments, and exceptional paperwork.

This convertible entered the family in 1969. It was the special kind of car that got the nickname "Nellie." Sometimes life gets busy and the fun car was eventually parked in the garage and sat for decades. When the adult daughter and her husband went to check out her father's car in 2005, she saw her child seat still in the back. They realized what kind of memories Nellie held, and so they began a restoration so that it was a real driver again for father and daughter to have new memories of an old friend. Now it's time for Nellie to make some new memories with a new caretaker. And while the history is great, we also know why a car like this would be the kind a family would keep for over a half-century. Springtime Yellow is one of those terrific colors where both its name and its tone bring up feelings of a warm and sunny afternoon drive in May. The restoration meant a good-looking respray, and the history means you know it has been treated like a member of the family. Good body lines and a fresh-looking convertible top make for an attractive cruiser. And this has all the best details, like bright chrome bumpers, complete trim, styled steel wheels, and the deluxe hood with integrated turn signals.

The black roof looks so good against the yellow that it's nice to power it down and see a full black interior beneath it. Because the interior received plenty of attention during restoration, the upholstery looks good, the dash is smooth, the door panels are complete, the carpeting remains plush, and the overall impression is quite inviting. Even the lights under the dash greet you when the door opens. It's a cool classic and also a proper driver's car. The 1967 car had updates to the bucket seats, steering wheel, and larger crisp/clean gauges for a better cruiser attitude.

The engine bay has an attractive look, too. The 289 cubic-inch V8 has a clean blue style that seems to radiate from within the gloss black inner walls. The V8 warms up to have the hardy nature you expect from Ford's robust small block. We all know these also love upgrades to unlock plenty of extra power. But right now, we like how this car with history continues to just have a period-accurate cruiser feeling. And making it a proper weekend drier also means the right features, like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and wide modern tires.

Nellie has over a half-century history with her last family. So you even get paperwork that often gets lost over multiple owners, like the factory buildsheet, dealer invoice, owner's manual, and restoration photos. This kind of care is the difference between a nice classic and an exceptional one. So if you're looking to write the next chapter in her book, call today!
