Vehicle Description
This 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova has been beautifully customized,
both inside and out, and has southern history. Debuting to the
public on September 29, 1961, the Chevy II was a completely new
line for Chevrolet. Designed to compete with the popular Ford
Falcon and the rising popularity of fuel efficient imports, the
Chevy II was an instant success for Chevrolet with the GM marque
producing over 325,000 units in the first year for the economical
compact car. The Chevy II was essentially Chevrolet's second
attempt at an entry level car after its European-inspired Corvair
proved to be more expensive than the Falcon. Unlike the Corvair,
the Chevy II was unmistakably American with a front-engine and
clean American style. Sitting atop of the Chevy II hierarchy was
the Series 400 Nova, which featured more luxurious interiors, a bit
more exterior trim, along with a few extra goodies. This particular
Nova comes to us from a southern based collector who owned the car
for 33 years and cared for it dearly. A 350 Cubic Inch V8 crate
engine paired with an Edelbrock single 4 barrel carburetor provides
a stout powerplant to this compact Chevrolet. A TH350 Automatic
transmission is mated to the NOM 350 Chevy V8 and ensures that
anybody can take this Nova for a spin around the block. The TH350
is shifted using a B&M Shifter which gives the car a true
muscle car feel. Exhaust exits the 350 V8 via a dual exhaust setup
that gives this Chevy II a nice throaty sound. This Nova rides on a
set of Crager Chrome Wheels with P235/60R14 radial tires that give
the car a great look and even better ride. The exterior has been
refinished in a beautiful Kustom Brandywine Kandy
basecoat/clearcoat that completes the exterior look of the car. The
interior is nicely customized as well. The front bucket seats and
rear bench seat have been reupholstered in Burgundy Vinyl with
diamond-stitched velour inserts. The door panels match the seating
upholstery scheme of this Nova with diamond-stitched velour. The
steering wheel is an upgraded sport-style wheel with silver spokes,
adding to the tasteful custom interior look of the car. The dash
retains a mostly stock appearance though with a few mild upgrades.
The Dakota Digital instrumentation cluster features a 160 MPH
speedometer, a 8,000 RPM tachometer, an oil pressure gauge, a
temperature gauge, a volt gauge, and fuel gauge, along with a
digital displays for the odometer and clock. The original radio has
also been upgraded to an AM/FM/Cassette system so that you can
listen to all of your tunes while cruising down the road. Whether
you're adding to your classic car collection or you're buying your
first classic car, this 1962 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova would make a
wonderful choice. Give us a call today!
