Vehicle Description
1979 Ford Ranchero GT Resto-Mod
Why This Car Is Special

This 1979 Ford Ranchero Resto-Mod we have here at Skyway Classics
represents the final generation of the legend but with its highly
modified Super Cobra Jet engine and drivetrain, slick silver paint

Mechanical
Under the hood is Ford's 428 cubic-inch V8 engine with a lot of
attitude and extra go-fast goodies like the aluminum heads and
intake, four-barrel carburetor, polished aluminum valve covers,
chrome open-element air cleaner, MSD electronics and distributor,
tube headers, dual exhaust, and performance spark plug wire
set.
It has a maintained a great look inside the engine compartment and
the engine fires up nicely as the V8 inhales deeply. That attitude
is backed up further by great driving features, like power
steering, power brakes w/discs up front, air conditioning,
serpentine belt system, aluminum radiator, H.D. rear end, and a
three-speed automatic transmission shifted on the column.
Interior
The silver of the exterior goes well with the red/white custom
plush interior. It has nice comfort features like the twin front
power adjustable bucket seats with armrests, air conditioning,
classic dual-spoke steering wheel, red door panels, red carpet and
floor mats, red factory dash with a full compliment of black-faced
gauges including the tach and it's surrounded by a sporty
machine-turned aluminum panel with accessory gauges under the
dash
The interior also has power windows and locks, remote mirror, a
modern stereo AM/FM radio and seat belts welcome you into the
cab.
The ample storage space behind the seat is a nice perk of this
Ranchero and the interior is all luxury and is comfortable enough
to drive all day long.
Exterior
Not only is this the final generation for the Ranchero, but it's
arguably the best one, too. Ours is painted in silver with a full
black strobe stripe package, flared fenders, and a GT logo decal on
the rear flanks that make this look like a true GT machine.
And that design translates well into this pickup/coupe as it also
has chrome bumpers front and rear, grey and chrome Shelby mag-style
wheels with low profile black sidewall tires to complete this very
vintage and sporty look.
The inside of the bed is also painted to match and is protected by
a rubber bed mat.
Conclusion
This 1979 Ford Ranchero Resto-Mod we have here at Skyway Classics
is a super neat Resto-Mod GT with a ton of appeal that does a great
job of providing power, great looks and all the options you can ask
for in a classic car
