Vehicle Description
This 1986 GMC Sierra 1500 Restomod makes for an awesome cruiser
with upgrades like a fuel-injected Vortec V8 and an overdrive
transmission. But that's not what probably attracted you, is it? We
know it's the mix of high-gloss shine and distinct patina that
makes this pickup the right kind of unique to make sure it's a cool
stand-out everywhere it goes.
The patina is what instantly grabs attention because it was done
with some of the best contrasting around. The bold red burns
through to a dark black, and some areas get down to the white/gray
primer. And while it has a worn-in style, it doesn't take much to
recognize the overall quality. The panels are quite crisp and
clean, and rather than being withered down to exposure, there's a
high-gloss clearcoat to seal in the style and give it a smooth
appearance. You also have a newer grille, clear headlights, bright
bumpers, and liner paint protecting the bed that all highlight the
true investment in this build. Plus, the lowered stance and 20-inch
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels give it a terrific cruiser sense
of style.
Just like the exterior, the red interior likes to give you the
right hints of classic truck style while also delivering an
upgraded cruiser. The fundamentals have been updated, including a
newer dash and Dynamat sound deadening under the carpet. The stereo
has been upgraded to an AM/FM/CD unit with USB, Bluetooth, and new
speakers for the best in driving music. And the cool blue glow of
the Dakota Digital gauges lets you know this was made to be a real
cruiser.
While the exterior and interior want to have the right hints of
vintage, the engine bay is pure modern. The clean inner fenders put
the 5.3-liter LS Vortec motor on full display. It has been
installed with care, and it includes Carbole coils, an aluminum
radiator, and electric fans. And a nice set of headers add power
and rumble to the glasspack-style dual exhaust. It's a total
package kind of pickup where you have power steering, power brakes,
front discs, and an upgrade to a four-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive. So it makes for a restomod classic that fires up
eagerly, offers plenty of power, and cruises easily near or
far.
