For Sale: 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in Marietta, Georgia

Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to present this ultra-rare 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Blackbird Year One Edition, car #6 of 8 ever produced. You heard that right, there were only 8 examples of these Trans Am's ever made. This pristine example of Carl Black and Year One shows only 4900 miles on the dash, and is one of our favorite Trans Am's that we have come across. This very limited edition was the brainchild of Pontiac dealer Carl Black, who was looking to sell a beefed-up Trans Am in the classic Pontiac muscle car. From 1967 to 2002, the Trans Am became a favorite among enthusiasts; and a true legend. Pontiac was known for rolling out some amazing special editions over the years, but none compare to the bad, beautiful, and hard-to-find Trans Am GMMG Blackbird Year One Edition.
Black was looking for more than just an appearance package, so he collaborated with long-time aftermarket Camaro tuner GMMG, run by Matt Murphy. GMMG custom built a limited-run of 50 Pontiac Trans Am Blackbirds, not to be confused with the ultra-limited run of 8 Year One Editions. Offered here is car #6 of 8, with just under 5k original miles. GMMG took a stock LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine and added an engine package that turned out 380 horsepower and 400ft-lb of torque. This beast is capable of going 0-60 mph in just 4.40 seconds, and running a quarter mile at 12.87 seconds. Under the hood you will also find the signature of none other than Matthew Murphy of GMMG dated 09/11/02. Other modifications outside of the engine include a high flow carbon fiber air box lib with Year One Edition decal, chambered cat back exhaust, front and rear Eibach 1.5" lowering springs, dimpled front and rear disc brake rotors, and American Racing 17-inch Torque Thrust wheels. Great looking with plenty of muscle cues; it includes hood accent stripes, Blackbird emblems and badging throughout, and Silver-faced gauges with Year One logo on the dash. With a retro vibe running throughout, the GMMG Blackbird Year One Edition added boosted technology, power, and handling to the Trans Am; and is the echelon of rare muscle car finds.
