Vehicle Description
For 1964, 65 and 66 the Thunderbird was in to its fourth generation
of cars and now it would be advertised as a large personal luxury
car. The restyling was in favor of a more squared-off "Formal" look
with the only remnant of its earlier sporty years was that the
standard engine would be a 390 cubic inch V8 pushing 300 HP.
However, it would take that 390 nearly 11 seconds to push the new
heavy T-bird from 0-60. However, the T-Bird still retained its
leading market share over more qualified cars. This particular
excellent driver quality bird is finished in a older re-spray of
pearl white with the attractive Landau top. The interior appears to
be original and in very good condition. The body appears to be
remarkably strait, the underside is in nice condition as well. The
paint is older and has some wear and tear with some peeling paint,
scratches etc.....It still shines nice and this would be a great
candidate for a re-spray or drive it like it is. The T-Bird starts,
runs and goes down the road very nicely with the exception of
pulling to the left. This is a very common issue that can be
remedied with a steering box adjustment. (based on information
online). The car has no rattles, squeaks or vibrations and the car
seems to have decent brakes and tires. The A/C does not blow cold
but the compressor spins freely and the belt is attached. The break
away steering column also is in working condition. There are not
many running, driving not rusty T-birds of this era at this price
range.
