Vehicle Description
This 1968 Pontiac Firebird Restomod has been given big investments
to showcase an awesome upgraded style. That means vibrant modern
paint, a custom A/C interior, four-wheel disc brakes, and a
six-speed manual transmission. And to make it a true restomod that
also respects its history, it's powered by a fuel-injected LS1
V8.
The bright green paint is an unmistakably more modern color that
won't confuse this car for anything straight from the factory. You
can tell there was an investment in a professional application, and
so there's an even deep luster that pops in the sunshine. It helps
kick off a custom style that's continued on upgrades like sport
mirrors and tinted windows. And we love how they deleted most of
the badging but added an LSX on in the grille to signal the
upgrade. It's also riding on a more modern 17-inch Billet
Specialties alloys with a meatier rear set to give you a more
modern stance. But also invested in making sure it never loses the
essence of why we love Firebirds. The brightwork package looks good
everywhere from the bright shine of the hallmark full chrome front
end to the form-hugging rear bumper. And the performance elements
of this car are also iconic. It includes dual hood scoops, a front
air dam, and the unique spoiler borrowed from its Trans Am
sibling.
The black interior looks great against the bright green on the
outside. The carpeting, dash, and door panels all have a clean look
from a good investment. But it's more than just a purely dark
affair. We know your eye was immediately drawn to the upholstery
upgraded with the houndstooth inserts - a true iconic piece for
'60s GM muscle machines. And while it's a true classic this
restomod also means modern comfort upgrades, like the AM/FM/CD
stereo with aux input and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. And
it's also built to be a better driver. You get pieces like front
bucket seats, a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, and a digital
gauge cluster that include a large speedo and tach. And have you
counted the gears on the shifter yet?
Under the hood is a 5.7-liter LS1 V8. We love having this motor
under the hood because this is a first-gen Firebird, and the LS1
was the sought-after powerhouse for the last of the final-gen
Firebirds/Trans Ams. So it feels poetic to have it so nicely
presented in this engine bay. Yes, it does have LS2 covers on it,
but that's part of the fully upgraded nature. After all, you also
have FAST intake by Wilson Manifolds, a cold air intake, an
aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and headers feeding into
the glasspack-style dual exhaust. The T56 six-speed manual
transmission means you are in complete control of the upgraded
power and its rumbling soundtrack. Plus, power steering, rear
traction bars, four-wheel power disc brakes, and modern sport tires
complete a package designed to own the streets.
This is the all-around awesome build that you've always wanted.
It's the right mix of stand-out upgrades and a package that was
