Vehicle Description
Patina is like a lightning rod for most of us today telling our
minds to "get ready for something special!" and this 1960 Chevrolet
Bel Air hardtop certainly delivers. Because beneath the fashionable
worn-in style is fuel-injected V8 power, an overdrive transmission,
four-wheel disc brakes, a beautiful custom interior, and an
adjustable air ride suspension.
A patina'd car rolling down the road looks like it has lived an
interesting life thus far. In fact, this shows all the right signs
of being the factory application, which it has earned its respect
through decades. So this coupe's worn-in style is seen right on the
surface to tell its history without ever saying a word. But there's
much more going on here. You have a beautiful set of Intro wheels
with a cool 20/22 inch front/rear stance. And when you lower the
fully adjustable air ride suspension, they nicely tuck into the
body. So there's no mistaking this or anything but a custom
machine. And as you get closer, you can see they added shine to the
right places, like the crystal clear headlights and high-polish
bumpers. And the unique rear trunk design was even given some more
shine just so that the light can really catch the smooth slope to
the center. So the level of detail here goes beyond the real
patina. Even the dealer tag on the back is part of the fun. So
people will recognize this as a Miami Chevy outlet, which just gets
you thinking about what this hardtop looked like cruising on South
Beach.
The theme of the exterior is about originality with upgrades, and
the interior is something similar. It's about giving you classic
style but in a fresh and more inviting package. For example, you
get two wide rows of bench seats with the classic button-top
details. But there is a supple feel from the upholstery that only
comes from a new and modern application. Plus, the carpeting,
headliner, and door panels all coordinate in tan/brown to give you
an overall feeling of quality. Even the trunk will impress you with
its level of detail. You have well-placed upgrades like the
retro-style AM/FM stereo, and the air ride controls are mounted in
the glovebox. This even has beginning provisions for air
conditioning (the compressor is in place but you will need
components and servicing for the system.) You'll love slipping
behind the classic steering wheel that's now on a tilt column, and
the full round gauge package has upgraded readouts for crisp dial
and better info.
Chevy was barely into their V8 period when this Bel Air was born,
but when you lift the hood, you are going to see what decades of
evolution have yielded. It's a 5.3-liter LS-based V8. This
fuel-injected powerhouse has a clean look in a tidy engine bay,
which is good because there are going to be a lot of eyes on this
one. And you'll even spot nice updates like the upgraded air intake
and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. More than just
upgraded for serious power, you now have even more flexibility with
it thanks to the 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission that's
stout enough to handle the V8, and at the same time, deliver you
comfortable overdrive highway cruising. Plus the aluminum radiator
with an electric fan will help keep the engine cool even when
you're sitting in traffic. Power steering, four-wheel power disc
brakes, and the grip of modern sport tires complete this true
cruising package.
The patina, the rumble, the stance, the comfort... It's all part of
an awesomely thoughtful build. This is a true classic and a true
custom that's great to show off near or far. Call today!!!
