Vehicle Description
Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1970 Plymouth
Roadrunner V-code 440 V8 6-pack for sale in our Mesa, AZ showroom.
This 1970 Roadrunner has been beautifully restored from top to
bottom, inside and out. It's going to be harder to find a meaner
example of Mopar muscle than this! The sleek orange paint is the
result of a solid investment in this Plymouth. Painted in the
original Tor-Red (V2) paint code. It came directly from the factory
with aggressive features like the large side scoops, and that big,
bad Air Grabber hood that rises and looks like it wants to consume
all the lesser cars as it charges up from behind (air grabber is
fully functional). And we know you really love the Road Runner
graphics that remind you about how this coupe can leave everyone
else in the dust. But more than just the right color and muscle car
features, we know you're attracted to this one because it shows
there's been careful ownership in all the details. The panels line
up nicely; the big chrome bummers rival the paint for shine; and
the black stripes painted on the hood go nicely with the premium
black vinyl roof. The turn signals in the performance hood bulge
operate, the front and rear windshield have been replaced (new),
door glass is original Chrysler glass as well. Inside is a highly
original-style interior, but you can also see there has been a big
investment in making it look great. For example, the seats have the
correct white trim look, but you can also absolutely feel that
these are far fresher than stock. Even the trim on the setbacks is
still in place. Plus, you have matching door panels, plush
capering, a taut headliner, and a clean dash with new gauges and
new rally wood grain steering wheel. Even the factory AM radio is
still on display. You even still have the Road Runner center cap,
and year, the horn gives off the hallmark Beep! Beep! Everything
else is operating in the interior (heater/defrost vents, blower
motor and fan, windshield wipers/washer, cold air vents). In 1970
the base V8 for these Road Runner was the 383 cubic-inch unit.
That's a great motor, but it was no match for the 440. This is a
factory V-Code 440+6 (E87) car with the original numbers matching
A-833 heavy duty 4-speed transmission (D21) with the Hurst Pistol
Grip Shifter with the original Dana 60 3:54 Trac Pac Sure Grip Rear
(A33). The 440ci engine in this car is not the original block that
came with the car but has what appears to be a factory replacement
block (casting date of Oct 1970). There is nothing (no numbers)
stamped on the engine pad near the distributor. The car was built
in September 1969. The "906" heads appear to be original to the car
with the build date of 08-69. The block was fitted with the
original heavy duty 6-pak rods and internals. The air grabber hood
(N96) is fully functional and has heavy duty hemi K-frame and hemi
front suspension which included heavier torsion bars. The car is
equipped with four new all chrome 15" Magnum 500 wheels and four
new tires (215/70 on the fronts and 275/60 on the rears). This will
be sold on a clean Arizona title with the original fender tag and
original Chrysler build sheet to document the cars authenticity.
