This gorgeous 2006 Mazda RX8 is a documented one owner vehicle with only 11,500 original miles. The factory window sticker, key fobs, owner’s manuals, Pre-Delivery Inspection Sheet, RX-8 Product Update DVD, RX-8 dealership brochure, car cover and clean Car Fax report are included. The Mazda RX8 was produced for the US market from 2003-2011. This example is one of 9,343 produced in model year 2006. The 2006 Mazda Rx-8 was named a “10 Best Sports Coupe” by Car and Driver. As the original factory window sticker documents this vehicle had a manufactures suggested retail price of $33,624.00. It was ordered with a Velocity Red Metallic exterior and a Black interior. It was ordered with the following optional equipment: Grand Touring Package – ( 300 watt Bose audio system, 8-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated seats and exterior mirrors, auto dimming mirror with homelink, power moonroof, leather trimmed seating surfaces, xenon headlights, fog lamps, dynamic stability control and Mazda advanced keyless entry and start system), Appearance Package – (front air dam and side and rear aero flares), Rotary Accent Package- (polished front rotary accent and polished rear rotary accent), rear wing spoiler, in-dash 6-disc CD changer and California emissions. This car was new to a lady who lived in Middletown, RI on November 10th, 2006. The selling dealership was Autocenter Mazda which was also in Middletown, RI. The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition throughout. The stylish and sporty design has a powerful presence. The body is free of any dings or dents. It retains 100% of the factory original paint which was tested with an electronic paint by MS CLASSIC CARS. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. There are a few small chips on the exterior which are shown in the video provided. Some of the factory exterior features include a tinted windshield with sunshade, rear window glass radio antenna, aluminum hood, front fender black grille inserts, dual power mirrors, free style doors, halogen headlights, rear spoiler and rear bumper lower black panel for twin bright tipped exhaust outlets. The car sits on the original 18” aluminum alloy wheels that are wrapped with Toyo Proxes 4 Plus 225-45-18 tires. The front passenger wheel does have some slight curb rash on the outer lip. The tires were replaced in 2014 with roughly 9,000 miles.
The interior of this car is also in beautiful condition throughout. The ingenious “freestyle” door system provides easy access to the RX-8’s first class seating for four adults plus excellent side-impact protection. Instead of fixed center pillars, the system utilizes vertical reinforcement beams with special top-and-bottom latches to create “virtual” center pillars. The black leather trimmed seating surfaces show very little signs of wear. The gray headliner and power moonroof make it feel more open. The trunk compartment is fully lined and home to the tire inflator kit.
The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The hood insulation is intact and it still retains all of the original factory stickers. There are no signs of oxidation or deterioration. The car is powered by its unique 232HP Renesis Rotary engine. It’s smoothly responsive, high-revving design (9,000-RPM redline), compact size and outstanding power-to-weight ratio make it an ideal sports car engine. It also helps the RX-8 maintain an approximate 50:50 weight distribution front to rear, regardless of the passenger load. The engine is coupled to short-throw 6-speed manual overdrive transmission. The RX-8 close-ratio manual transmission is engineered to help make the most of the rotary engines broad powerband and provide maximum exhilaration. The power is transferred to the Tochigi-Fuji torque-sensing limited-slip differential.
The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. There are no signs of oxidation or deterioration. It’s equipped with independent double-wishbone front suspension with light-alloy upper and lower control arms, strut tower brace, coil springs and stabilizer bar. The sport tuned multi-link rear suspension has low-mounted coil springs and stabilizer bar. It’s also equipped with an power-assisted 4-wheel braking system with ABS, 12.7” ventilated discs on the front and 11.9” ventilated discs on the rear.
