First introduced in 1999, the Toyota Solara was a replacement model for the Camry Coupe, with a convertible version finding the showroom in 2000. Reception to the car was strong at dealerships and prompted a redesign for 2004 with an improved V6 engine and a more rigid body structure for decreased noise and road vibration. This second-generation Solara better complied with the sporty feel Toyota was shooting for, and enhanced driver enjoyment. The final years of production from 2006-2008 saw another revision to the front and rear bumper fascia, as well as LED taillights, and improved interior technology to include Bluetooth and satellite radio.
