This 1958 Chevrolet Impala is a beautifully restored, tastefully
upgraded 2 door hardtop that is ready for some serious summer
cruising. When the Impala debuted in 1958, it was the top trim
level for Chevrolet and was actually an option package for the Bel
Air which was the top-of-the-line model that year (it wasn't until
the following year that the Impala was spun off to be its own
standalone model). From the entry-level Del Ray to its brand-new
top-of-the-line Impala, Chevrolet completely redesigned the look
across all of its passenger cars in 1958. The new '58 Chevys were
"lower, wider [and] longer" and were touted as such in Chevrolet's
1958 marketing materials. At the frontend, the grille and bumper
received a new, more-modern style especially with the introduction
of dual headlights. Four new "chevrons" were added to the front
fenders as well along with additional chrome trim around the
exterior signifying that the car everyone was seeing was in fact an
Impala. Of course, it was at the rear of the 1958 Chevys where the
most drastic style updates occurred. The rear end look is quite
iconic with 3 "missile" style taillights and swooping body lines
created by the gullwing-like rear quarters. The 1958 Impalas also
had simulated air scoops on the rear fenders that, along with the
additional taillights, differentiate the Impala from the lower
level Bel Air. These cars were impressive back in 1958 and remain
one of the most collectible 50s Chevys ever produced. Under the
hood is an upgraded 350 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with an
Edelbrock single 4 barrel carburetor. The NOM 350 V8 is hooked up
to a TH350 Automatic Transmission ensuring that anybody can take
this Chevy for a cruise around the block. Exhaust exits the engine
via a dual exhaust setup that has a nice throaty sound. This '58
Impala has some fantastic options! With power steering, getting in
and out of those tight spaces at car shows or your local drive-in
is a total breeze. Bringing this upgraded Impala to a stop is
simplified with power brakes. The chrome and brightwork around the
exterior of this 1958 Impala is in fantastic condition as well. The
exterior on this Impala has been repainted in beautiful Rio Red
paint which gives the car fantastic curb appeal. This 1958 Impala
rides on wide whitewall bias-ply tires with full wheel covers which
complete the exterior look of the car. The interior on this 58
Chevy is absolutely stunning! The front bench seat and rear seats
have been reupholstered in Red Vinyl with Red/Gray/Black cloth
inserts, and the rear seats are separated by a custom red vinyl
upholstered center console. The dash, door panels and steering
wheel are in fantastic condition and have a nice stock look. The
dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge,
fuel gauge, AM radio and clock. Whether you're buying your first
classic car or you're adding to your Chevy collection, this 1958
Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop would make an excellent choice.
