This gorgeous 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible has won numerous
awards including several first-place trophies and a second place at
the Cadillac Grand Nationals in 2017. And this is after being
driven to each and every event, covering 22,000 miles in the past
18 years of ownership. This Cadillac achieved Emeritus status with
the Cadillac LaSalle Club due to her five (5) consecutive first
place wins. This Eldorado comes with a trove of trophies and
placards from various concours events. This is one of the 1,870
Eldorado's made in 1964, making it a rare find. This Eldorado was
sold new in Pennsylvania and registered on May 17, 1964. From 1979
through 1999, this Eldorado was enjoyed by Ted Walters. Mr. Walters
was a long-time board member of the Cadillac LaSalle Club. The
Eldorado was then acquired by Mr. Albert Cowles from King of
Prussia, PA. During Alberts 15 years of ownership, they steadily
improved the car and showed it, amassing many first place wins all
the while accumulating 22,000 miles driving her and loving her. The
last caretakers have owned the Eldorado for about three (3) years
and were very diligent about preserving her condition. They drove
her very little and she has been garaged during her time with them.
The Eldorados livery has received a bare metal respray in 2017 in
the original Firemist Aquamarine (Paint Code 94-2), finished with
four coats of clear coat. And taking an Eldorado down to bare metal
is no easy (nor inexpensive) task! The paint is gorgeous, and it
has been blocked and sanded beautifully to provide an extremely
deep luster and has few imperfections. The chrome and stainless all
are original and are in good to very good condition, with some
light pitting on the interior fixtures. There is one small dent on
the rear bumper. Cadillac had excellent quality chrome from the
factory and this example has held up astonishingly well. The white
vinyl power convertible top works smoothly and well. There are two
very slight spots on the top, but is in overall excellent
condition. The aquamarine convertible top boot fits very well and
really finishes the look. The interior was redone in the correct
Aquamarine (Trim Code 16) leather in 2007 and is in excellent
condition today. The paint and the leather go together beautifully.
Most Eldorado's dont get restored with leather because of the
expense, and this has been done beautifully- thus the numerous
concours wins. The white convertible top was replaced along with
the interior in 2004. The top is a clean, fresh white that
complements the streamlined ocean-like feel that the car presents.
We love the wood accents in the Eldorado. The wood veneers in this
example are in nice condition. Some of the veneer has the original
finish while others have been refinished. The aquamarine carpet is
thick and beautiful. The dashboard is like new with no cracks or
blemishes. The steering wheel is in great condition with some minor
wear, but no physical breaks or chips. Mechanically, this Eldorado
drives wonderfully. The transmission received a new turbo and
flexplate in 2018 and the venerable 429 cu in V8 engine was rebuilt
in about 1980. With 340 hp, these Cadillac's perform very well. The
brake master cylinder and power brake unit were replaced in 2018 as
well. The air conditioning has been gone through but was
disconnected when the brake work was completed. There was a new
compressor and dryer installed. The engine compartment is well
detailed and the chassis has been cleaned, painted and looks great.
We have ordered a new set of five Coker Classic wide white walled
radials to replace the existing set. The white wall tires
complement the fresh, white top and beautiful aquamarine color.
Overall, this Cadillac Eldorado is a well-rounded, beautiful
classic that is equally at home on the show field or on the weekend
cruising! The trunk is well finished and is complete with the jack,
wheel wrench and spare tire. This Eldorado comes complete with a
case of trophies and other items. The NADA retail value is $72,975
and the Hagerty No. 2 Value is $68,700 . The 1960's Eldorado's are
some of the fastest appreciating American convertibles and for good
reason. They are mechanically reliable, fun and easy to drive and
enjoy and are truly iconic. The 1964 Eldorado's are the very last
of the fins. For more information and details, please call, text or
