Vehicle Description
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a beautifully restored 2 door
hardtop with classic and tastefully done upgrades. 1955 was a
banner year for Chevrolet, with the GM marque completely
re-designing its top-of-the-line Bel Air both inside and out. The
new-look 1955 Bel Air featured a bolder and squarer exterior
appearance and, in turn, kicked off the Tri-Five era for Chevy.
From nose to tail, the '55 Chevys had a whole new look. From the
famous "hooded" headlights that were carried through the rest of
the Tri-Five era cars, to the restyled grilles and bumpers, going
up to the new wraparound windshields, through the new
bolder-looking rear quarter panels and rear-end treatment, the 1955
Bel Air instantly became a style icon. On the inside, the '55 Bel
Airs were plusher than more economic 150 and 210 models and the new
interior design would become an iconic characteristic as well. Of
course, not to be forgotten in the 1955 models was the notable
addition of Chevrolet's first V8 engine offered on its passenger
cars and would become the standard going forward. This particular
'55 Chevrolet Bel Air comes to us from the private collection of a
true Chevy collection who was clearly a wonderful and caring
steward of this classic car. Powering this Tri-Five Chevy is a 350
Cubic Inch V8 crate motor paired with an Edelbrock single 4 barrel
carburetor that is dressed up quite nicely. A TH350 Automatic
Transmission backs the NOM 350 V8 ensuring that anybody can take
this '55 Chevrolet for a spin around the block. Exhaust exits via a
dual exhaust setup through which gives this Bel Air Hardtop a nice
throaty sound. This 1955 Bel Air sports some fantastic options!
Getting in and out of those tight parking spots at the local
drive-in or local car show is a total breeze since this 55 Bel-Air
is equipped with power steering. With power front disc brakes and
an upgraded dual master cylinder, bringing this Chevy Bel Air to a
stop is much more reliable and is made much easier. Riding on
P235/60R15 raised letter radials in the front and a matching set of
245/60R15 radials in rear, all of which are on Crager chrome
wheels, this 1955 Bel Air has a great look and even better ride.
The exterior on this Bel Air has been beautifully refinished in a
two-tone color scheme consisting of Gypsy Red and India Ivory,
completing the classic exterior look of the car. The interior on
this Chevy is absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats
have been reupholstered in a beautiful Red Vinyl with Beige Cloth
inserts and have a nice stock look. The door panels are in
wonderful condition as well and appear to be in a stock
configuration. The steering column has been upgraded to include a
custom tilt steering wheel, which makes driving this car more
comfortable. At first glance, the painted dash appears to be stock
though a closer examination reveals several tasteful upgrades. The
instrument cluster has been upgraded to a Danchuk Signature Classic
Instruments setup complete with a 140 MPH speedometer, 8,000 RPM
tachometer, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, volt gauge, and
fuel gauge. Additionally, the radio has been upgraded to a
retro-style AM/FM entertainment system so that you can listen to
all of your tunes while cruising down the road. Whether you're
adding to your Tri-Five collection or you're buying your first
classic car, this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop would make
an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
