1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible - 327ci V8 - 4 Speed Manual
Transmission - Red Over Red Interior - Red Hard Top Garage Kept
Motors is very excited to feature this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette
Convertible. Honestly, it doesn't get any more extraordinary then a
red-on-red 60's era Corvette convertible. Think about it, there was
a TV show about a similar Corvette, ok Route 66 was filmed in black
and white, but most people are certain it was a red 'Vette! And
there have been so many songs written about red Corvettes, again at
least that's what people see in their minds when they listen to
these tunes. There is Shut Down by the Beach Boys, Deadman's Curve
by Jan & Dean, David Ball's Riding with Private Malone, George
Straight's the Best Day and of course Prince's Little Red Corvette!
We probably should not have told Jimmy our high school intern and
lot hand to Google the meaning behind that song, he just keeps
playing Prince on repeat in the wash bay and giggling. The point
is, in the car as well as pop culture the high-water mark for cool
cars is hands down the Little Red Corvette, and this one certainly
fits the bill. This Corvette was subjected to an older cosmetic
restoration and still shows very well. The Riverside Red paint has
been well applied and polished has been well maintained and shines
with a deep luster, though there are a few minor nicks here in
there, it presents very well. The white convertible top still
functions as designed but the there is some minor wear starting to
show and this car comes with the red hardtop. Additionally, this
car is equipped with the highly desirable aluminum knock off wheels
wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires that greatly enhance the
road manners of this American classic. Underneath the car is clean
and well maintained. The power steering has been recently replaced
including all new hoses. The front and rear shocks have also been
recently replaced along with the front stabilizer links and new
rear spring. The brakes have been recently serviced including a new
master cylinder and power brake booster. Inside the cabin of this
red rocket the red interior shows well with no rips or tears and
only some light sun fading. The dash features full factory
instrumentation, simulated wood rim steering wheel, factory floor
mats and AM/FM radio. Under the hood sits the 327 V8 with 4bbl
carburetor. The engine compartment is well detailed and maintained.
Corvettes of this era where some of the first cars to come dressed
for performance with a chrome air cleaner, factory aluminum intake,
finned aluminum Corvette valve covers and chrome ignition
shielding. There really is no greater thrill then driving a manual
shifted side pipe car. The factory side exhaust exits just behind
the doors and tickle your ears as the high revving small block
raises and falls as you work your way through the gears. Drive this
car and you begin to understand what all the fuss is about when it
comes to Corvettes and why the American Astronauts choose to drive
these cars when they weren't strapped to rockets. Finding a curvy
backroad is what owning a Corvette is all about. Unfortunately, in
trying to preserve the legacy and reputation of this American
sports car many enthusiasts over restore these cars which means
these cars never see more then a well-groomed show field and an
enclosed trailer. This is not that car! This car presents well as
an original car and will shine at the local cruise in or car show,
but it's not so perfect you will be afraid to drive this car. This
car is the perfect weekend cruiser to jump in and get away and
drive and enjoy. Please call if interested or e-mail with any
specific questions. Thank you for looking.
