Vehicle Description
This 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Convertible is attractive
because you can get a fuel-injected V8 power and drop-top appeal in
a modern classic package - all offered for an affordable price. But
what makes this one irresistible is the rare color combo that gives
this sporty T/A a premium feel, too.
There's an instant attraction to a Trans Am. After all, Pontiac has
left us years ago, and so we know that the sharpest stick in the
performance car brand is in finite numbers. However, some are rarer
than others. The factory Maple Red Metallic is an awesome color,
but one we hardly see. It does a terrific job of giving you the
boldness of red but now with deeper tones for added sophistication.
This is the original application, and it has been treated with
respect on a car that has averaged less than 4k miles annually. One
of the reasons for such reverence is because this is only one of 33
cars in this full color and feature configuration! So you want it
to look as good as this one does so that the sunlight helps the
metallic element radiate. And it all shows off the crisp lines and
sleek curves, including the aggressively pointed front end, hidden
headlights, widely flared fenders, and rear spoiler that wraps
around the whole trunk.
The tan/taupe roof has an almost European-like kind of style
against the special deeper red paint. It makes this Trans Am look
especially distinctive, and so it's great to see the full color
theme continued on the inside. While this is a low-mileage car, the
overall impression is so clean and stock that it will make you
think it has been in proper storage for years. And this time
capsule is loaded with all the best features. It includes a power
driver's seat, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control,
dual front airbags, ABS, a cup holder center console, a tilt
column, and a steering wheel with all your essential buttons. And
when it comes time for a drive, you'll appreciate the right combo
for a premium experience. The power windows and power convertible
top mean you don't have to leave the driver's seat to open this one
up to the world. Cold-blowing air conditioning makes it nice to
have a drop-top even in the summer. And the Monsoon AM/FM/CD stereo
adds your favorite music to the breezes.
Under the hood is the correct fuel-injected V8 looking quite stock
and well-maintained. The LS1 was the kind of powerhouse that got
all of us instantly excited from day one. More refined, lighter,
and more powerful than its predecessor, it pushed the T/A well past
the 300 hp barrier. The four-speed automatic transmission is great
for overdrive cruising or quick kick-downs for a performance run.
Plus, there's plenty of control with four-wheel disc brakes, power
steering, BF Goodrich sport tires, and sway bars front & rear.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet and
maintenance records. This was the final year for the Trans Am
legend. So to find rarity, distinction, and respect in a desirable
drop-top makes for the kind of collectible you just know needs to
be in your garage. And at a price like this, you better hurry. Call
