Vehicle Description
This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 has a great vintage style everywhere from
the two-tone paint to the desirable five-window cab. And you'll be
hard-pressed to find another vintage accessory to add. It makes for
one of the most authentic and head-turning '50s machines you can
get your hands on right now.
This truck is made to be a true classic cruiser, and that feeling
starts with the paint. The two-tone red and white has a cool sense
of style where there's the right mix of gloss and again. So it has
the same appeal as that old Coca-Cola machine you've just been
begging that old service station to sell you. The real wood in the
truck bed gives you the same well-aged feeling. Plus, this one also
has a cool look with nearly every period-correct accessory in
place. In front there are spotlights ahead of the grille and
eyelids over the headlights. As you move further down the truck,
you'll see the adjustable windshield sunshade and iconic
whitewalls. There's even a spotlight mounted on the driver's side
(currently for display-only.) In the rear, there are bright bed
rail caps and blue-dot tail lights. And we especially like the
touch of black seen throughout. So the pinstripe around the cab and
tailgate is united with the black front bumper base and black full
running boards. The total impression is a true classic with
thoughtful distinction.
The desirable five-window cab means you get more light inside, and
so it's an opportunity to see even more vintage charm. You'll enjoy
the little things like the column-mounted metal fan, AM radio (for
display), and the classic heater unit under the dash. The whole
package likes to feel authentic - everywhere from the bouncy bench
seat to the large steering wheel with the ideal worn feeling where
you can truly feel this truck's history.
The engine bay follows the lead of the exterior and it gives you
classic style with period-correct upgrades. The 3100-series trucks
famously relied on Chevy's trusty inline-six motor, and that
tradition continues here with the year-correct 216 cubic-inch
block. But those who know these Chevys will love the additions.
After all, not many people know about the Wayne Manufacturing
finned aluminum valve covers, but they have a cool history from
this era. And the Fenton exhaust headers are a treat to see because
they give this inline-six a true dual exhaust. This one really
gives you the classic truck feel, right down to the column-shifted
three-speed manual transmission.
You're looking at a very well-done original style Chevy truck that
also has the right well-integrated upgrades for a fun weekend
cruiser. A total package like this won't stay available for long.
