Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 Mercedes-Benz 450SL.
This R107 SL is finished in Classic White over red interior and
shows 123,000 miles. It has been in single family ownership for
over 30 years. It's rare that we find a 450SL in such nice
condition with so much invested into it - receipts from a 2009
refresh at Bud's Benz total over $30,000.
Restoration work included a complete interior re-trim including the
dash and the soft top. The seats were reupholstered in correct
leather, door panels, carpet, zebrano wood, soft top, carpet, seals
and all MB tex trim was replaced. While the dash was out the vacuum
pods were replaced and a number of mechanical items were addressed
including subframe mounts. Additional records both before and after
the Bud's restoration total in the thousands for brake work,
cooling system, suspension work, ignition module and more. It was
repainted to a nice standard in the original color in the mid 2000s
and it still shows well today.
This SL starts easily and runs well - the big V8 is smooth and
pulls strong. It is noted in recent service records that the A/C
compressor has a leak and has been disconnected although the system
is intact. Factory 14-inch Bundt wheels are in nice condition along
with a matching spare. A correct Becker cassette radio is fitted in
the dash and is working along with the power antenna. Books, tool
roll and extensive service records are included. This is one of the
nicer 450SLs on offer with receipts that far exceed the asking
price and finished in a striking color scheme. For more information
