Vehicle Description
1952 MG TD 2 matching numbers 3-owner survivor. The original owner
was a physician who bought it new and sold it to another MG
enthusiast 50 years later in 2002. The 2nd Owner had it for 16
years and sold it to the current owner in 2018. The odometer
reflects 18586 and is believed to be original and not beyond its
mechanical limits. At some point the leather seat was reupholstered
in red leather that has stood the test of time, altho' it doesn't
match the saddle-colored interior door panels & trim. The car
starts easily, runs well (see video), doesn't smoke, and is mostly
solid save for a minor rust area that has developed at the
passenger-side B-pillar just below the door aperture. There is no
significant rust. The only collision historically is from the
original owner who, in later years, brushed against landscaping
sufficient to cause dents to both fenders, more left than right.
Both are sufficiently solid & repairable and the car is being sold
as you see it. Transmission shifts as it should thru all gears
seamlessly, good clutch, and no surprises. All lamps work. The
Windshield wiper motor has been rebuilt but is currently INOP. This
issue is currently being addressed by its owner to get it working.
Historically, several items have been replaced or otherwise rebuilt
and in some instances improved upon to its current condition
including: Rebuilt Engine; 7.25:1 compression! (1250 XPAG) Rebuilt
Transmission Aamco Top Oiler Both SU Carbs were rebuilt New
Radiator, Fan & Thermostat Spin-on Oil Filter New high volume water
pump Newer fan blade Rear end has been geared higher for modern
driving conditions New Brake work throughout Rare original factory
tool kit with dash trouble light Original Tonneau & side curtains
are included, but the plastic window(s) have long-since hazed over.
Top frame requires a new canvas. This has years left to thoroughly
enjoy as is----------or restore the exterior to its former glory.
