Vehicle Description
This truck is an intoxicating mix of vintage with just the right
upgrades. So it's hard not to enjoy this well-presented 1959 Dodge
Power Wagon, whether you want to show off something distinct or
enjoy it for the true tough 4x4 it is.
A classic Dodge truck from this era is a rare sight. The
distinctive lines are beefy and attractive, which makes it a great
way to stand out at cars & coffee. And we love the way it adds
flair correctly. The plum paint has a nice metallic glow, but
there's the right level of use to announce it's a real truck. And
those upgraded 18-inch alloys have a high-polished style, but they
are also genuine HD 8-lug wheels. The Power Wagons had a look at
living up to their name with flared fenders and a tall 4x4 stance.
This one takes it up a notch with custom bumpers and integrated
guards in a distinct white. It stands out against the metallic plum
to boldly announce this classic truck can plow its way through a
field of younger pickups, and it even showcases a useful trailer
hitch on the rear to bring all the toys with you. That's the
difference you get with a Power Wagon. It looks vintage, but age
doesn't diminish its utility. So while this one will be fun to show
off around town, we bet you'll be taking advantage of the liner
paint in the bed to get some work done, too.
The color theme is carried inside for a custom two-tone plum and
white. The doors, dash, and headliner follow this custom style. And
the two-tone bench seat with tuck and roll insert is a particularly
nice-looking custom piece. There are even provisions for nice
upgrades like a modern stereo and air conditioning (they will need
servicing/parts to function fully.) But this one also doesn't lose
its real truck sensibilities. After all, you have a true 4x4 floor
shift transfer case, and the whole floor is done in rugged liner
paint. Overall, it strikes a nice balance of being useful right
now, and it also gives you the right base if you want a full-show
truck interior in the future.
This Power Wagon has been given plenty of updates, but the one
you'll like the most is under the hood. The stock straight-six was
a powerful motor, and the only way to replace it was with a younger
Mopar powerhouse with the same kind of robust reputation. So under
the hood is a hardy 318 cubic-inch V8. It's a true torque king, and
you control it all with the ease of the four-speed manual
transmission. And you have that good granny first gear for when you
need low-end torque. So it's exactly what you want in a go-anywhere
4x4. The undercarriage has a clean look for confidence in all
conditions. Plus, while the Toyo Open Country tires are awesome
off-road, they provide far more comfortable on the pavement than
the skinny stock tires.
This is a cool mix of old-school fun and custom truck flair. And at
the heart of it all is a versatile and rare Power Wagon. Call
