Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 has an absolutely mean stance.
And it kicks off a custom package that includes big block power, a
menacing growl, four-on-the-floor, four-wheel disc brakes, and
awesome slick paint. And you get to enjoy this all from the
comforts of an A/C interior. So it's time to get your hands on one
of the meanest and most complete muscle cars around.
The VIN tells us this is a real-deal Super Sport, but that likely
wasn't the first thing that attracted you. Instead, the upgraded
paint is the kind of quality application that has an ultra-vibrant
radiance that makes this coupe feel like it has its own gravity.
And speaking of gravity, this one gets low in the front for an
intimidating stance. So you have a first impression, that's bold,
mean, slick, and an overall true aggressor. It's the right kind of
attitude you want on an upgraded SS, but additions don't mean
eliminating the best details. The darker SS grille, blackout rear
panel, vent trim hood, ribbed rockers, and full SS badging are all
must-have details that are looking sharp here. And those wraparound
bummers have the shine to remind you this is from the era where
chrome was king.
The interior is a full custom presentation that still respects the
classic style. For example, you have later Camaro-style bucket
seats, but they still embroidered SS396 in the headrests. There are
even still the classic door panels and center console. But the dash
is now a full custom panel dominated by VDO gauges. And it's a
driver-ready full package with the Grant sports steering wheel,
Hurst shifter, shift light, and vacuum readout on the console. It's
all restored to a high-quality standard. And since this coupe is so
inviting, it's also nice to have comfort features like air
conditioning, power steering, and an AM/FM stereo with
Bluetooth.
The engine bay loves to put it on full display. The ultra-smooth
inner walls funnel your attention to the motor in the middle. And
the combo of sleekness and shine makes this an award-worthy total
package. As a true S396, it's nice to have a 396 cubic-inch big
block, and this one inhales deeper with a Holley four-barrel
carburetor, and it exhales with added power into long tube headers.
There are also good supporting components like an aluminum
radiator, metal-reinforced lines, and an Optima red top battery.
It's a hardy powerhouse that makes a sweet tune out of the H-pipe
dual exhaust, and any time you really want to bring the thunder,
there are also exhaust cutouts. The four-speed manual transmission
means you're in complete control of the full package. Power
Steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, a reinforced rear
suspension and upgraded sport tires afforded Billet Specialties
alloys all make for quite a confident muscle car.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and restoration photos.
