Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this rare 1 of 364 Factory 4 Speed Formulas ever produced with the Pontiac 400 high performance W72 engine. This car is very special because it still retains its numbers matching original Pontiac 400 engine and 4 speed manual transmission with matching vin stamps. Adding greatly to the value of this unique car is the fact that this Formula only has 17,664 documented "Actual" miles and only 3 owners since new. The original owner had this Formula from new until he sold it to the second owner in 2016. This formula is mostly original and unmolested and comes with a host of original documents, dealer books and brochures, some service records, the factory build sheet, and the original window sticker. This Formula features believed to be mostly original paint, a mint original black vinyl interior, and the numbers matching 400 Pontiac engine and numbers matching 4 speed manual transmission. This Formula is exceptionally solid with great lines and gaps and was rust proofed when new, see original body guard certificate. There is no visible rust on the body or underside of this car and no patches or repairs. This Formula is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Factory Nocturne Blue (code 29) over Black vinyl interior code(19r). This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and window sticker pictured above. The Miles are "Actual" on the title and the very low miles are documented on past titles and other docs. The factory Fisher T Tops are a tremendous upgrade and bonus on this special Formula and place it in the elite super rare category as most 4 speed Formulas were hard tops.
Exterior
The Blue and Grey exterior is in stunning believed to be original condition. This Formula has believed to be mostly original paint with no known metal repairs, and absolutely no rust, no bubbling paint, and no cracked paint or crazing paint. The paint is in overall wonderful condition for its age and looks and shows very well. Both bumpers are in excellent shape with no flaking paint or spider webbed paint. The decals are in great shape and look excellent on the car and are believed to be original. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have nearly full tread and drive nicely and are correctly sized at 225/70/15. The 15x8 Snowflake wheels are OEM originals and are in great shape. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great shape. The trunk is solid and exceptionally clean with the original space saver spare tire, jack and tools, and the original correct trunk mat, which is in remarkable condition. Its believed the spare has never once been removed from the trunk and the jack never removed. The underside of this Formula is outstanding and extremely solid and rust free. It has not been spray bombed with cheap paint or detailed in any way. There are numerous factory assembly line markings and tags still in place as seen in the photos. The car was rust proofed when new which has really done its job and performed well in keeping this awesome Formula rust free.
Interior
The Black vinyl interior of this Formula is in original and in mint overall condition. The original seat covers are in excellent superb condition and have no wear, stains, or seam splits. They are soft and hold their form as if they were new and are very comfortable. The carpet is original and in near perfect condition with no noticeable wear, no stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is immaculate with no cracks or warping or fading and amazingly the plastic retainers are still in position under the A pillar metal trim. The dash bezel is in excellent near perfect condition. This Formula was ordered without a radio and remains that way today and has no speakers either. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in good overall condition but is looses in a few places. The package tray is in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter, the clock works as well too. The horn, tach, rear defroster, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work. This Formula was ordered for performance and was ordered without a factory AC system which really cleans up the engine bay and adds to overall performance.
Mechanical
This Formula is in excellent mechanical condition and most importantly the original numbers matching Pontiac 400 engine and transmission are still in the car, see vin stamp photos of both above. This Formula has been driven on a regular basis and runs and drives exceptionally well with no known issues and has lots of power for a stock W72 Pontiac 400 engine. The amazing low "Actual" miles on this Formula are documented and original miles. This Formula runs and drives exceptionally well, it rides tight, drives strait down the road, does not run hot, and drives like a new car. The engine bay shows a lot of originality and several original factory markings, factory vacuum lines, factory decals/stickers, and factory tags are still in place. In the video one can observe the car running and driving with no excessive rattles or odd noises. This rare Formula has factory 4 wheel disk brakes and they perform very well and do not pull and stop as they should. The only noted deviation from stock on this Formula is the exhaust which was changed to true duals with Flowmaster mufflers which has an awesome sound at idle and cruising speeds. The shocks were also changed. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This Formula has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and has been garaged since new. The outstanding originality of this Formula and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special car. This Formula is truly the one to have being a low production car with the highest performance drive line available in 1979 with factory Fisher T Tops. This Formula is referenced as one of the best 1979 400/4 speed Formula known to exist.
