Vehicle Description
The 107 Chassis was built for almost twenty years, between 1971 and
1989 is one of the most classic looking Benz to date......in my
subtle opinion anyway! These cars were sold new to wealthy
socialites all over the world with the exception of the last 560 SL
models that were only sold in the US, Canada, Japan and Australia.
This 500 SL model is Euro Spec car that was imported to the US
after the 25 year rule. There are certain items that stand out on
these and to me it's the bumpers that are a dead give a way. They
are a much more attractive bumper because they are much closer to
the body as they did not have to conform to the 5MPH bumper rule
here in the US. This seems to be a very decent car overall. It
still retains its original paint so, there are some blemishes,
swirls and a few scratches but overall nice with no rust. The
underside of the car shows quite well in my opinion again with no
rust or rot. This car does have its original hard top that is in
good condition. The original soft top needs replacing if you plan
on actually using it....The tops both work properly. The interior
is showing some signs of sun fade but no cracking anywhere. The
carpets have some staining, all the lights work properly, the
windows and radio work. The A/C is not blowing cold. This is a very
good running and driving car with no shakes or rattles and has nice
power. This would make someone a really nice driver SL as is or put
a little money in to it and you would really have something special
I think. A little bit nicer cars bring a whole lot more money.
