This 1982 Jeep Cherokee is a rust free Jeep that spent its life in
California. This Cherokee recently went through a selective style
restoration and it looks great and runs and drives great too!! The
body on this Jeep Cherokee is about as clean as they come. Really
hard to find them like this. It is extremely straight. We found no
evidence of rust or rust repair anywhere on this rig. This vehicle
was originally blue but was repainted Black Metallic and it is a
really nice paint job. It still has all of the original trim that
is still in great condition. The interior is also in really nice
shape. It has recovered aftermarket bucket seats that are very
comfortable and the rear seat was recovered to match. The entire
inside was done with sound deadener and they put in new carpet on
top of that. It still has the original headliner, dash, and dash
pad. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are
all working. The gauges all work and the heat, wipers work. This is
an AC Jeep that has the complete system installed but the AC
doesn't blow cold (the compressor does kick on).
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent!!! It starts easy and runs and
drives excellent!! The engine is the 4.2L 258 Inline 6 that runs
strong with no issues we could find. These engines are known for
their longevity and reliability. It recently had a new fuel pump
installed, new distributor and new carburetor. The transmission is
the 727 Automatic that shifts nice. It is mated to the np208
transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is
the AMC 20 with 3.31 gears and the front axle is the Dana 44 with
3.31 gears. This is all sitting on a new set of steel wheels with
Goodyear Wrangler tires.
