For Sale: 1951 Chevrolet Styleline in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

The 1951 Mercury coupes are famous for their lead sled treatment, but this 1951 Chevrolet Styleline proves that the fastback-style lines of the bow ties might have done it even better. Lowered, sleeker, and chopped - this is an awesome V8 cruiser with all the right classic-style upgrades.

There's only about 1,400 miles on the full build that was said to be completed in 1995, and so it all has a clean and fresh look that knows how to get attention. This starts with the Brandywine paint. It's an appropriate name because it looks like it was just poured over the whole car. So while you won't want to encourage strangers to touch your ride, they'll absolutely be drawn to the way the finish still looks wet going over the sheet metal's curves. The overall sleekness also comes from a well-done street machine that has inches chopped out of the roof with a trace left. And the lowered stance, rear fender skirts, deleted badging, and shaved door handles are all part of the wild-cheating style. They even frenched the best pieces, like the headlights, antenna, and added third brake lights. And you can tell they took the time to make sure this one has the proper look of a 1950s custom machine. You have all the best features, like the custom grille half-chrome headlights, a louvered hood, whitewall tires, and faux lake pipes (your exhaust comes out of the big polished tips in the rear.) There are even the right touches of custom pinstriping on the trunk. It really feels like they thought of everything.

The door poppers are your gateway to a full custom interior. The white and burgundy two-tone does a terrific job of giving you a memorable custom appearance that also coordinates with the exterior. And while the style is award-worth, it's also quite comfortable. The front bucket seats have good bolstering, and even the rear seats have bucket-like individuality thanks to the full-length center console. It's nice to go for a ride with features such as an Alpine AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, tinted glass, and power windows. Plus, a tilt steering column, chrome sports steering wheel, Lokar-style shifter, and the cool blue glow of the digital gauges make for a great upgraded driver's package in this 1950s coupe.

There are more great upgrades under the hood. The package looks impressive with a color-matched firewall, smooth black inner fenders, tidy wires, and good hoses. At the center is a 350 cubic-inch V8 that's done with the right cruiser features like a finned Edelbrock valve covers, a matching air grabber, an electric fan, a Jegs intake, and topped with a four-barrel carburetor. It makes for a stout powerhouse that also makes a great exhaust rumble from the dual exhaust. This was built to be a cruiser, and it feels that way in how it smoothly hits the road with confidence. And the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes with discs up front make cruising a breeze.

This George Barris signed, "Kustoms of America" award car even comes with restoration photos! People are going to remember this Chevy lead sled everywhere it goes. So are you going to be the one arriving in it, or are you going to be admiring from the sidelines? Call today!!!
