1978 Corvette Silver Anniversary I purchased this Corvette from a
friend in 1995. I used it very little for 5 years and then put it
into a building and stored it for 20 years. The engine is a 350 cu
in V8 L82. Transmission is automatic and it has AC. The engine and
transmission always performed well before it was stored away. The
car is being sold 'as is' and here are the problems that have
occurred over the last 20 years of storage that come to mind. The
car has not been started for 20 years and any gas in the tank has
to be removed. I don't know if the engine will turn but I expect it
to. The building it was stored in was in an underground mine fire
area in PA and the building inside temperature never went below
freezing. The engines of other vehicles stored in the same building
for the same length of time all survived and they turn freely. I
will try to crank the engine when my Son has the time to help me.
Much of the interior needs to be replaced due to wear and tear plus
moisture damage from sitting in an unheated building for 20 years.
The drivers door was damaged recently and will need replacement or
fiberglass repair. The entire car needs minor fiberglass repair and
repaint. There is passenger side fender damage. The brakes failed
as we were removing it from the trailer but thinking back I don't
recall any fluid on the trailer floor or on the garage floor which
is curious. The car will have to be towed. I don't object to a
prospective purchaser performing a compression check. I didn't plan
on selling the car when I took the photos and I will add some
better photos soon. The car is stored inside a garage. Please Note
