Vehicle Description
This 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass has a cool look that has the right
signs to be a rare special edition. And the full package also
offers proper V8 power, a comfy interior, and that unmistakable
Cutlass hardtop silhouette. It all makes for a distinct classic
that was made to be driven and enjoyed.
This Olds has the right speedy style. The upgrade to gray paint has
a muscle car kind of vibe, especially when it's joined by dark
pieces like the black hood stripes, blackout grille, and Super
Stock wheels. So this gray does a great job of giving you
distinction while giving the right driver-quality impression of an
easy driver. Color is also an interesting part of this car's
history. The trim tag shows that this was a special order paint
car, and that's how many of the Rallye 350 special editions came.
We don't have the buildsheet or any definite evidence of this, but
it makes for some interesting suspensions. After all, the Rallye
350 also had color-matched bumpers, a full-width spoiler, dual
exhaust notched in the rear bumpers, and a ram air hood. And
regardless of the origin, those are the kind of speedy details we
love to see on these fastback coupes.
The black interior goes well with the color theme. It nicely
follows the driver-oriented feeling with front bucket seats, an
armrest center console, and Oldsmobile's classic four-spoke
steering wheel. You may find details to update/upgrade, including
restoring the factory air conditioning. But overall, what we like
is a very classic style you see everywhere from the working dome
light to the smooth wood-like trim. In fact, the only upgrade
you're likely to spot is the AM/FM/CD stereo system and that just
gives you better driving music in this cruiser.
Under the hood is the famous Oldsmobile Rocket 350 cubic-inch motor
is something very special. These have an especially hardy
reputation, and they also like upgrades. So this one inhales deeper
with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with long
tube headers adding power and rumble to the dual exhaust. This
coupe has been under the same owner for over two decades, and he's
kept up with the care. That's why you have good supporting
components, like an aluminum radiator, an MSD ignition, and a newer
alternator. It's a solid total driving package, and the three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs,
and rear sway bar make for an easy driver behind the aggressive
appearance.
An aggressive style that looks like a 442 - and might even be a
Rallye 350 - means this classic Olds has the look you love. So you
know this is an attractive driver-ready package, especially at this
price. Call today!!!
