There's a lot going on with this 1987 Chevrolet K10 4x4 Custom
Deluxe. It has plenty of survivor-like style, and there were the
right retro-cool recent investments to complement the classic
lines. And with cold-blowing A/C, an overdrive transmission, and
the numbers-matching fuel-injected V8 power, this 4x4 even gets the
fundamentals right.
This truck has a lot of personalities rolled into one. You have a
survivor-like feeling from the factory tan paint that has the right
amount of patina and use to be truly interesting. And its working
days aren't necessarily over thanks to the thick bed mat and a
proper trailer hitch. But this one doesn't just have a barn find
style. The chrome bumpers go nicely with upgrades like the polished
US Mag Indy wheels and roll bar in the bed. This 4x4 was even
recently lifted and given a quad set of true KC lights. Plus, that
desert fox-style stripe kit is a new addition offering a classic
style. It all makes for such a cool package that was perfect for
the 1980s. After all, Mr. T had his GMC Van, The Fall Guy had his
Sierra, and this one fits in with that crowd. It's almost like you
found a truck for a TV show that never aired.
The interior continues the clean and classic style. The smooth
dash, dual-spoke steering wheel, and clean rubber floor have the
right stock and robust feeling. The dome light even still greets
you when the door opens. As vintage as this feels, there are some
welcomed well-integrated upgrades. The bench seat was recovered for
added comfort, the radio is now a retro-style digital tuner, and
the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a refrigerant.
So this classic remains a comfortable pickup.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8. This is
important because this was the debut of factory fuel injection on
gasoline engines. It has been well-maintained, and the odometer is
even claimed to reflect the full actual mileage. So you have a
strong-running package. The two-speed transfer case, Rough Country
lift kit, new RC shocks, and B Goodrich All-Terrain tires make this
a great 4x4. And the power stein, power brakes, front discs, and
four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive make it a solid
driver.
Complete with owner's manual, this retro-cool Chevy is the right
mix of survivor and investments to be all-around irresistible. Call
