Vehicle Description
There are plenty of great-looking Model As out there (we've got
some beauties for sale, too.) But when you want true 1930s
distinction and upgrade to six-cylinder power, it's hard to beat
this 1931 Chevrolet AE sedan. And as you dig into the details,
you'll see the right investment that shows this classic was one
that continues to be great for driving.
Chevrolets were the "in" cars to have because these cars delivered
the extra style that the customers wanted. So while this burgundy
and black two-tone isn't exactly what General Motors applied nine
decades ago, it showcases that same spirit of attractive variety
you got when buying a Chevy all those years ago. It's the right
kind of finish for a nearly 90-year-old classic where it has a good
shine, but the right hints of age and use where it looks like it
has experienced America's history. In fact, there are even some
beliefs and documents that could suggest the odometer represents
the full actual mileage. And the vintage style is seen everywhere
with the wire grille guard, whitewall tires, windshield overhang,
and wire wheels - including the dual fender-mounted spares. It's an
impressive classic especially because of its legacy. The early
1930s Chevrolets are often a rare sight. They edged out Ford to be
the sales leader in 1931, but both companies were wishing they had
the big numbers from the Roaring Twenties. So the AE series sold
less than its predecessors, and people kept them for longer. So
when we think about the full history, we tend to get impressed by
an example like this that has both survived and had the right
investments to thrive.
The interior is full of handsome fabric that looks quite period
correct but has the look, feel, and atmosphere of something far
fresher. So it makes for an inviting atmosphere that can fill this
spacious sedan with family and friends. But you are always going to
be the one to enjoy it the most. The driver gets an intricate gauge
panel, tall shifter, and a classic four-spoke steering wheel with
just the right amount of aging to make sure you can feel the
generations who gripped this wheel before you. What you'll also
appreciate are the little things. We have receipts showing recent
investments within the last year for some new window seals. And the
updated burlwood accenting the dash and doors really upgrades the
stylishness without losing the vintage charm.
Chevrolets were not only stylish, but they also offered you
six-cylinder power when the Model A only had four. And while that
made Chevy's desirable in the 1920 and 1930s, what makes this one
so great today are the right upgrades. We have photos showing a
likely rebuild, and there are also receipts documenting investment
within the last year that include a cleaned gas tank, new fuel
sending unit, cleaned radiator, upgraded oil pump, and a rebuilt
fuel pump. The three-speed manual transmission features a new
clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing. The brakes were
recently serviced, and the whitewalls are new Coker classic units
(a $1,600 investment alone.) So it feels like a proper 1930s
machine going down the road, but you can feel the added confidence
of proper care.
The sale comes complete with an owner's manual, service manuals,
maintenance records, and build receipts. This is the stylish Chevy
that's been correctly respected to make sure it's ready for Sunday
drives. Call today!!!
