If you are in the market for a performance Mustang then Roush should be at the top of your list. This 2012 Roush Stage 3 (RS3) demonstrates that point. With a sticker price of more than $60k, it takes a very capable Mustang GT Premium Coupe with its Coyote motor and 6-speed transmission to a higher level. The visuals alone are fantastic, as the Roush body kit and associated graphics really make this car stand out. But the heart of the RS3 package comes under the hood in the form of a supercharger and tune that produce a healthy 540 hp. Throw in brake, suspension, and interior upgrades and you’ve got a Mustang that really delivers.
This car shows just 14,200 miles and is finished in Kona Blue along with the white and red Roush accents. Up front is a Roush fascia, chin splitter, and grille with badging. The rear gets a Roush valence, blackout graphic, decklid spoiler, and square exhaust tips. Additional features include quarter window louvers, side rocker splitters, Stage 3 badging, and a windshield banner. This one also has tinted windows that contrast nicely with the optional 20” chrome wheels. Tires are Goodyear Eagles from 2020.
The drivetrain takes Ford’s 5.0L Coyote platform and adds a Roush 2300 supercharger and tune, resulting in a healthy 540 horsepower. This feeds the 6-speed manual transmission and 3.73 limited slip rear axle. It not only delivers great acceleration but also makes a wicked sound through the Roush hollow-chamber dual exhaust. The suspension is all Roush Stage 3 (struts, shocks, springs, stabilizer bars, and more) along with optional red coil covers. This one also has the optional Roush red performance brake kit.
The leather interior also rises above that of a Premium GT. The black seats feature black suede inserts with blue stitching and RS3 logos. There is a white faced instrument cluster along with a special vent pod with boost gauge and white shifter ball. It also has illuminated door sill plates, pedals, and floor mats along with an interior medallion. Everything is in excellent condition and functions properly including the Shaker 500 audio system and Sync voice activated controls. It also includes both Ford and Roush window stickers along with maintenance receipts.
The Mustang GT is a great car but the RS3 package makes it even better. It has a fantastic appearance to go along with its blazing performance. But it is also a car you can live with every day, with more room, a better seating position, and improved ingress/egress over so many other sports cars. In addition, despite so few miles, this one is priced at a fraction of its original MSRP. Making this a very nice deal as well.
